PARTIAL DIELECTRIC LOADED SEPTUM POLARIZER
In an example embodiment, a waveguide device comprises: a first common waveguide; a polarizer section, the polarizer section including a conductive septum dividing the first common waveguide into a first divided waveguide portion and a second waveguide divided portion; a second waveguide coupled to the first divided waveguide portion of the polarizer section; a third waveguide coupled to the second divided waveguide portion of the polarizer section; and a dielectric insert. The dielectric insert includes a first dielectric portion partially filling the polarizer section. The conductive septum and the dielectric portion convert a signal between a polarized state in the first common waveguide and a first polarization component in the second waveguide and a second polarization component in the third waveguide.
Low-cost diplexed multiple beam integrated antenna system for LEO satellite constellation
A multiple beam integrated antenna system for a satellite including a support structure having an alignment plate. The antenna system further includes a plurality of feed horns mounted to the alignment plate, where each feed horn includes a plurality of tapered sections that support propagation modes for both up-link signals and down-link signals. A septum polarizer is mounted to an input end of each feed horn that converts linearly polarized signals to circularly polarized signals for the up-link signals and converts circularly polarized signals to linearly polarized signals for the down-link signals. A Y-shaped waveguide is coupled to each of the polarizers and includes separate receive reject and transmit reject filters so as to keep the up-link signals and the down-link signals from interfering with each other. Flex waveguides couple the transmit leg and the receive leg of each Y-shaped waveguide to RF modules.
WAVEGUIDE DEVICE WITH SIDEWALL FEATURES
Methods, systems, and devices are described that include one or more sidewall features to improve performance of a waveguide device. In particular, the sidewall features may be utilized within a polarizer section of a polarizer device such as a septum polarizers. The sidewall feature(s) may include recesses and/or protrusions. When a plurality of sidewall features are employed, the size, shape, spacing and kind (e.g., recess or protrusion) may vary according to a particular design.
Polarizer and a method of operating the polarizer
A polarizer, such as a septum polarizer, which may alter between two states wherein, effectively, the septum is rotated 180 degrees around the longitudinal axis of the waveguide so that the polarization of the signals in the waveguide may easily be altered without having to alter receivers/transmitters connected to the waveguide.
Partial dielectric loaded septum polarizer

The conductive septum and the dielectric portion convert a signal between a polarized state in the first common waveguide and a first polarization component in the second waveguide and a second polarization component in the third waveguide.
WAVEGUIDE FEED NETWORK ARCHITECTURE FOR WIDEBAND, LOW PROFILE, DUAL POLARIZED PLANAR HORN ARRAY ANTENNAS
A waveguide structure for a compact and scalable dual-polarized antenna array. In one example, a waveguide device comprises septum polarizers dividing common waveguides into first waveguides associated with a first polarization and second waveguides associated with a second polarization. The sets of septum polarizers may be inverted relative to each other to form first groups of four adjacent first waveguides for each type of waveguide. The waveguide device may also include a waveguide feed network including a first waveguide feed stage including waveguide combiner/dividers coupled between the four adjacent waveguides intermediate waveguides. The waveguide device may further include a second waveguide feed stage coupled with the first intermediate waveguides and the second intermediate waveguides, wherein the second waveguide feed stage extends in a direction perpendicular to the first waveguide feed stage.
WAVEGUIDE DEVICE WITH SEPTUM FEATURES
Methods, systems, and devices are described that include one or more septum features to improve performance of a waveguide device. In particular, the septum features may be utilized within a polarizer section of a polarizer device such as a septum polarizers. The septum feature(s) may be a ridge. When a plurality of septum features are employed, the location, size, shape and spacing may vary according to a particular design.
Systems and methods for polarization control
The described technology uses a dual circularly polarized panel antenna and equal amplitude variable phase control between the two circularly polarized components to achieve a rotatable linear polarization tracking system. An example antenna system includes a plurality of antenna elements that include a plurality of polarization transducers to generate a first signal component and a second signal component from a received wave. A polarization control network applies a phase difference based on an orientation of the linear polarization of the wave with respect to the antenna system between the signal components to generate adjusted signal components. The polarization control network combines the adjusted signal components to form a composite signal that corresponds to the linear polarization of the wave. Linearly polarized transmit and receive signals may be co-polarized or cross-polarized.
POLARIZER
An antenna feed network includes an asymmetric annular waveguide coupled between first and second cylindrical waveguides. The asymmetric annular waveguide is configured to transform a linearly polarized signal propagating in the first cylindrical waveguide into a circularly polarized signal propagating in the second cylindrical waveguide.
Wideband septum polarizer for reducing higher order mode
A septum polarizer according to one embodiment can comprise a waveguide body and a stair-shaped septum, which is arranged in the longitudinal direction inside the waveguide body and divides the waveguide body into two parts, and has stepped parts of different heights so that a higher order mode can be reduced in a preset frequency band. In addition, a septum polarizer according to one embodiment can comprise: a waveguide body having a polygonal cross-section; a stair-shaped septum, which is arranged in the longitudinal direction inside the waveguide body and divides the waveguide body into two parts; and a pleated part arranged on the outer surface of the waveguide body, and thus a higher order mode can be reduced in a preset frequency band.
