HIGHLY-INTEGRATED VEHICLE ANTENNA CONFIGURATION

The present disclosure provides a highly-integrated vehicle antenna configuration, which includes: a metal structure as a reference ground for a broadband antenna; a broadband antenna; a first electrical connection structure electrically connected to the metal structure and the broadband antenna; a first excitation signal source loaded between the metal structure and the broadband antenna, wherein by exciting some resonance modes of the metal structure and the broadband antenna, the broadband design is realized; and an antenna module located on the broadband antenna, wherein the broadband antenna is used as an antenna radiator and/or reference ground of the antenna module. Multiple broadband antennas are realized by using only the space occupied by one broadband antenna, and other antennas are built on the broadband antenna at the same time, which maintains a good isolation between all antennas while ensuring the performance of the broadband antenna.

Example embodiments described herein relate to a modular telematics control unit (TCU) with directional Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and techniques for using the modular TCU with directional BLE. A modular TCU may include a housing configured to couple to a vehicle and a set of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) radios. Each BLE radio is coupled to a corresponding BLE antenna configured for omnidirectional operation. The set of BLE radios and BLE antennas are located within the housing. The modular TCU also includes a heat sink located within the housing and positioned proximate the BLE antennas such that the heat sink limits operation for each BLE antenna to a particular direction extending away from the housing. In some instances, a vehicle computing system may use BLE to detect a device and perform operations based on the location of the device relative to the vehicle.

A noise reduction structure includes an antenna, a noise source, an electromagnetic conductor, and a grounding member. The antenna has a transmission and reception bandwidth. The noise source radiates an electromagnetic wave. Frequency of the electromagnetic wave falls within the transmission and reception bandwidth. The electromagnetic conductor is closer to the antenna than the noise source. The grounding member is disposed at the noise source in such a manner to face the antenna. The grounding member is electrically isolated from the electromagnetic conductor and forms a good grounding path to the noise source. Embodiments include a non-conductive housing, an antenna coupled to the non-conductive housing, an integrated circuit coupled to the antenna, a thermally and electrically conductive housing coupled to the integrated circuit, at least one ground clip coupled to the thermally and electrically conductive housing, at least one other integrated circuit coupled to the at least one ground clip, a memory coupled to the other integrated circuit and arranged to at least temporarily store digital communications between a vehicle or an agricultural implement and the computing device, and a connector communicatively coupled to the memory and arranged to mate with a connector of the vehicle or the agricultural implement.
