SCRATCH-OFF STRUCTURE PRODUCTION
20200262227 · 2020-08-20 ·

In one example of the disclosure, a substantially transparent substrate is provided at a printer. A primer layer is applied upon a first surface of the substrate. A security ink layer that includes security information is applied upon the primer layer. An opaque background ink layer is applied upon the security ink layer. A corona treatment is applied to a second surface, located on an opposite side of the substrate relative to the first surface. A release ink layer is applied upon the corona-treated second surface. An opaque cover image ink layer is applied upon the release ink layer.

Closed loop color calibration with multiple inline imagers

Production methods and systems enable the inline production of instant lottery tickets or documents using at least three different digital imagers. By interfacing at least three digital imagers in a common printing line, heretofore unknown printing efficiencies are realized, particularly on smaller volume print runs. These methods and systems enhance the overall appearance of the printed instant lottery tickets or documents, as well as potentially expand the consumer base.

METHOD OF USING MIDDLEWARE FOR GENERATING VECTOR GRAPHICS IMAGED SECURITY DOCUMENTS
20200204703 · 2020-06-25 ·

A method is provided of digitally imaging a secure portion and a non-secure portion of scratch-off-coating protected documents of at least one game using middleware. The method includes: (a) generating the secure variable indicia in non-vector raster format; (b) generating vector graphics to be imaged on physical document locations; (c) assigning the secure variable indicia in a non-vector raster format to documents in and shuffling the documents throughout a print run; and (d) linking via middleware the secure variable indicia in the non-vector raster format to associated vector graphics variable indicia to be digitally imaged on the documents and to generate vector graphics-formatted data for each document in the print run. The secure variable indicia assignment and shuffling are executed by non-vector raster game generation software output that is reinterpreted by the middleware to produce related vector graphic output for the secure variable indicia.

Scratch-off lottery ticket game structure and method with dynamic validation files to support variable prize structures

An instant lottery ticket game structure and method includes a set of instant lottery tickets, wherein a plurality of these tickets are winning tickets having a predetermined first prize value, as well as a predetermined enhanced second prize value. A validation file stored in a central host computer includes an individual base record for the winning tickets containing ticket identification data and the first prize value. A prize enhancement code on the winning ticket provides an option for the player to opt for the enhanced second prize value at a risk of reducing the first prize value. A sub-record in the validation file is maintained separate from the base record and includes the prize enhancement code and the value of the enhanced second, which may be less than the first prize value. A logic gate in the base record links the sub-record with the base record upon entry of the prize enhancement code by or for the player. For the winning tickets, a single record is created in the validation file by combining the base record with the sub-record upon entry of the prize enhancement code, the single record including a final prize value of the winning ticket.

Lottery tickets and lottery gaming systems and methods providing such lottery tickets, wherein the lottery tickets each have a connected symbol set path feature including a plurality of connected symbol sets along a bonus award path, a plurality of player symbols, and potential awards that can be won based on the symbol sets and the connected symbol sets along the bonus award path and the player symbols.

System and method for variable perforation profiles in a stack of lottery tickets
10591894 · 2020-03-17 · ·

A method and associated system are provided for producing a perforation line between adjacent lottery tickets in an automated production line wherein a substrate having lottery tickets printed thereon is conveyed through a perforation station in the production line. A perforation machine in the line is controlled to define a perforation line between the adjacent lottery tickets. The controlling process includes inputting control variables into a controller associated with the perforation machine, the control variables relating to conditions that determine a desired perforation profile of the perforation line. The controller programs the perforation machine with a specific perforation profile for the perforation line that is generated based on the entered control variables, and changes the perforation profile upon inputting of different values for the control variables. The perforation profile is specifically tailored to the control variables between different ticket production runs, or between tickets in the same ticket production run.

20200070563 · 2020-03-05 ·

A method for providing scratch-off lottery tickets for sale remote from a POS location in a retail establishment includes configuring the tickets with a game play area having play characters covered by a scratch-off coating. A print characteristic is provided in the game play area that is optically scannable but not reproducible when photocopying the game play area. In a database, identification of the printed characteristic is linked to a computer file associated with the lottery ticket at a central lottery computer. An optically scannable random identifier is also provided in the game play area and is linked to the computer file. Upon presentation of the lottery ticket for purchase, the ticket or a scanned image of the ticket is analyzed to verify that the print characteristic is present in the game play area. The scanned image of the ticket is analyzed to verify that the random identifier assigned to the lottery ticket is present in the game play area of the scanned image.
