COMPACT MULTI-BAND ANTENNA

An antenna is provided for operation across multiple frequency bands. The antenna includes, in order, a ground plane and a first conductive member separated from the ground plane. The antenna also includes a pair of second conductive members forming, with the first conductive member, a resonant structure sized to resonate at a higher frequency band of the multiple frequency bands. The antenna further includes a pair of third conductive members forming a resonant structure sized to resonate at a higher frequency band of the multiple frequency bands. The first conductive member is sized to resonate at a lower frequency band of the multiple frequency bands.

Antenna module

An antenna module includes a ground layer including a through-hole; a feed via disposed to pass through the through-hole; a patch antenna pattern spaced apart from the ground layer and electrically connected to one end of the feed via; a coupling patch pattern spaced apart from the patch antenna pattern; a first dielectric layer to accommodate the patch antenna pattern and the coupling patch pattern; a second dielectric layer to accommodate at least a portion of the feed via and the ground layer; and electrical connection structures disposed between the first dielectric layer and the second dielectric layer to separate the first dielectric layer from the second dielectric layer.

Power wave transmission techniques to focus wirelessly delivered power at a receiving device

An example method performed by a wireless-power-transmitting device that includes an antenna array is provided. The method includes radiating electromagnetic waves that form a maximum power level at a first distance away from the antenna array. Moreover, a power level of the radiated electromagnetic waves decreases, relative to the maximum power level, by at least a predefined amount at a predefined radial distance away from the maximum power level. In some embodiments, the method also includes detecting a location of a wireless-power-receiving device, whereby the location of the wireless-power-receiving device is further from the antenna array than a location of the maximum power level.
