WiFi and bluetooth smart indoor/outdoor antenna with automatic motorized and app control

An antenna system for receiving over-the-air broadcast television signals includes a steerable directional antenna, a pedestal on which the directional antenna is rotatably mounted, a stepper motor to effect rotation of the steerable directional antenna, and a control circuit. The control circuit receives a control signal and causes the stepper motor to effect rotation of the steerable directional antenna. The directional antenna is steered such that its main lobe is generally directed to a television signal transmitting antenna selected by the user of the antenna system. The steering of the directional antenna is based on geographic location information associated with the television signal transmitting antenna.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR TRANSCEIVER AND ANTENNA PROGRAMMABILITY AND GENERALIZED MIMO ARCHITECTURES

Embodiments generally disclosed herein relate to a sub-wavelength multi-port codesign approach between the unit transceiver element and the integrated EM interface to enable a generalized broadband MIMO array with individually programmable element patterns. The co-design approach allows processing of radiated signals at the antenna level distinct from classical arrays. The transmitter and receiver architectures with the integrated EM interface are implemented in 65-nm CMOS and have a bandwidth of 37-73 GHz. Wireless links with data rates up to 12 Gb/s are demonstrated across the spectrum with a wide range of reconfigurability of the active EM interface. The multifunctional EM interface and the broadband transceivers can enable future efficient and compact MIMO arrays for reliable links exploiting frequency, spatial, pattern and polarization diversities.

An apparatus for detecting an object, including a transmitter and an antenna that receives a signal from the transmitter, radiates a transmitted beam of electromagnetic energy, and receives a reflected beam of electromagnetic energy, the reflected beam being a reflection of the transmitted beam when the transmitted beam is reflected from an object. The apparatus further includes a phase detector in communication with the antenna that detects a phase difference between the transmitted beam and the reflected beam, and that produces an output based on the phase difference, and a voltage meter that receives the output and produces a voltage reading.

A fin-type planar antenna and a deployable dipole antenna are combined into a probabilistic system as a co-located orthogonal diversity fin antenna to reduce or eliminate cross polarization fades and cancellation dropouts common to wireless audio systems used in theaters, churches and convention centers over coaxial wired connections. Additionally, an optical line may connect the diversity fin antenna to a further circuit. The antenna system features broad bandwidth, resistance to deep nulls or fades caused by cross polarization, resistance to destructive interference, and an air space dielectric covering provides resistance to detuning in the presence of rain, or touching objects.
