5-6 GHz wideband dual-polarized MIMO array antennas are disclosed. The antennas comprise a double layered PCB, a single layered PCB and a plurality of microstrip patch antennas. The microstrip patches are radiating elements which are coupled to apertures in the ground plane. The aperture coupling avoids the need for complex multi-layered boards with plated via holes. Standard SMA connectors can be used with the array antenna.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE HAVING ANTENNA UNIT

An antenna unit includes a dielectric substrate; a dielectric cover on the dielectric substrate; and an antenna array. The antenna array includes antenna elements arranged in the dielectric substrate and configured to form traveling waves propagating in the dielectric substrate and the dielectric cover. The antenna unit also includes at least one spatial matching element arranged in space formed inside the dielectric substrate, spatially matched with the dielectric cover, and coupled with the at least one antenna element. The spatial matching element is configured to be spatially matched with the antenna array with the dielectric cover and to reduce reflections of traveling waves propagating from the antenna array to the dielectric cover. The antenna device may be diversified.

WIRELESS BACKHAUL NETWORK USING TRAVELING WAVE ANTENNAS

Disclosed are embodiments of a wireless access device for use in a wireless backhaul network. In an embodiment, a wireless access device for accessing a wireless network comprises: a first antenna module including a plurality of traveling wave antennas, wherein at least one of the traveling wave antennas has at least two ports; and an interface circuit coupled to the first antenna array, the interface circuit configurable to interconnect one or more radios to the one or more traveling wave antennas, including selectively interconnecting a radio frequency (RF) signal from a radio to a first port of at least one traveling wave antenna to generate a first beam for a first non-line-of-sight (NLOS) link of a wireless backhaul network, and selectively interconnecting a same or different RF signal from the same or another radio to a second port of the traveling wave antenna to generate a second beam for a second NLOS link of the wireless backhaul network, wherein the first and second beams have different radiation patterns or polarization.

A problem with conventional article management systems has been that the management scheme for articles. The present invention addresses this problem by providing an article management system comprising: a transmitting antenna for transmitting a radio signal; a receiving antenna for receiving a radio signal; a article to be managed positioning region whereat articles to be managed are placed; an RF tag provided with a tag transmitting unit which electromagnetically couples with the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna; and an RFID reader which sends a transmission signal to the RF tag via the transmitting antenna and receives a response signal outputted by the tag transmitting unit via the receiving antenna. The RFID reader detects whether or not a article to be managed is present by detecting for changes in the operation characteristics of the tag transmitting unit due to the article to be managed according to changes in either the strength or phase of the response signal from the RF tag.

This document describes radiation channels filled with a dielectric using a surface with a pattern of radiation elements to allow electromagnetic energy to enter or escape the dielectric. An absorption channel is paired with the radiation channel. The absorption channel is loaded with an absorber material to allow for a transfer of electromagnetic energy between the radiation channels and the respective absorption channel. A surface of each of the absorption channels has a pattern of absorbing elements that allows the electromagnetic energy that enters or exits the dielectric to be absorbed by the absorber material.
