Electrical terminal for flat flexible cables

A cable assembly includes a flat flexible cable having a plurality of conductors embedded within an insulation material. A portion of each of the conductors is exposed via openings selectively formed in the insulation material, allowing for a crimping portion of an electrically conductive terminal to engage with the conductor within the opening. The crimping portion of the terminal includes a base defining at least one protrusion extending therefrom, and first and second sidewalls extending from the base. The base and the first and second sidewalls define an opening configured to receive the conductor therein. The first sidewall includes a first section attached to the base and a second section attached to the first section on an end opposite the base. In a crimped state of the terminal, the first sidewall rotated into the opening such that the first section at least partially surrounds the second section, and the second sidewall is rotated in a direction opposite the first section such that the first section at least partially surrounds the second section, for crimping the conductor within the opening and against the protrusion.

An electrical assembly includes a terminal having a terminal body, a first wing extending from the terminal body, and/or a second wing extending from the terminal body. An electrical assembly may include a conductor in electrical contact with the first wing. The conductor may include a conductive layer and/or an insulative layer. An inner surface of the first wing and/or an outer surface of the first wing may be in direct contact with the conductive layer of the conductor.

Fabric-Contact Device, System, In Particular Heating System For A Motor Vehicle, And Method For Producing Such A System

A fabric-contact device includes a first contact section having a first contact face on a first upper side, a second contact section having a second contact face on an underside facing the first contact section, and a retaining device. The first contact face faces the second contact section and the first contact section is connected to the second contact section on a first side of the first contact section. The retaining device has a first retaining element connected to a second side of the first contact section at a first fixed end. The first retaining element is guided laterally past the second contact section by a first section of the first retaining element bordering the first fixed end. A second section of the first retaining element bordering the first section on a side opposite the first fixed end engages behind the second contact section and affixes the second contact section to the first contact section.

CONNECTOR

There is provided a connector including: a housing; and a terminal-equipped electric wire assembled to the housing. The terminal-equipped electric wire includes: a terminal; an electric wire; and a flexible conductor provided between the terminal and the electric wire. The flexible conductor is divided into a plurality of divided conductor portions along an axial direction of the flexible conductor. The divided conductor portions are bent in different directions from each other.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS FOR SMA ACTUATORS

Broadly speaking, embodiments of the present techniques provide mechanisms for electrically connecting shape memory alloy (SMA) actuator wires of an actuation device to a power or current source via at least one connection element.

FITTING-EQUIPPED CONDUCTIVE SHEET

A fitting-equipped conductive sheet including: a conductive sheet material in which a plurality of conductive strands are aligned planarly; and a plate-shaped conductive fitting attached to ends of the plurality of conductive strands, wherein the conductive fitting includes a folded-back portion, and a first sandwiching portion and a second sandwiching portion that are folded back with the folded-back portion as a starting point and the first sandwiching portion and the second sandwiching portion are opposed to each other.

CONNECTORS FOR FLEXIBLE BUSBAR AND METHODS OF CONNECTING

A connector for a flexible busbar is provided. The connector includes a jaw and a relief. The jaw has a first member and a second member both depending from a support member and spaced from one another by a distance. The distance is larger than a thickness of the flexible busbar. The relief is defined on first member and/or second member. The jaw is deformably compressible onto the flexible busbar upon application of a deformation force on the first and second members so that the flexible busbar conforms to the at least one relief to form an electrical and mechanical connection.
