Electrical Terminal For Flat Flexible Cables
A cable assembly includes a flat flexible cable having a plurality of conductors embedded within an insulation material. A portion of each of the conductors is exposed via openings selectively formed in the insulation material, allowing for a crimping portion of an electrically conductive terminal to engage with the conductor within the opening. The crimping portion of the terminal includes a base defining at least one protrusion extending therefrom, and first and second sidewalls extending from the base. The base and sidewalls define an opening configured to receive the conductor therein, wherein the sidewalls are foldable into the opening for crimping the conductor within the opening and generally between the protrusion of the base and a portion of the sidewalls.

The first sidewall includes a first section attached to the base and a second section attached to the first section on an end opposite the base. In a crimped state of the terminal, the first sidewall rotated into the opening such that the first section at least partially surrounds the second section, and the second sidewall is rotated in a direction opposite the first section such that the first section at least partially surrounds the second section, for crimping the conductor within the opening and against the protrusion.
Electrical male terminal
An electrical male terminal of this invention includes a clamp or crimp area, a main body, and a blade. Protruding members and support members of the main body act as overstress protection. A panel shield member protects a protruding guide member. In another embodiment of this invention, a protruding member extends from a first support member of the main body, and a cut-out portion at the lower portion of the main body accommodates therein the protruding member. Furthermore, in this another embodiment of the electrical male terminal of this invention, a protrusion extends from the unattached end portion of the lever member to protect the electrical male terminal from inadvertently falling out during use. The configuration or shape of the cross-section across the upper portion at the front portion of the main body and the support member at the front portion of the main body of the electrical male terminal is substantially U-shaped. The configuration or shape of the cross-section across the attached portion of the lever member of the electrical male terminal is substantially U-shaped. The electrical male terminal is formed, substantially in its entirety, as a contiguous and continuous single construction having included therein at least the main body, the clamp or crimp area, and the neck area that joins the main body and the clamp or crimp area, and/or the lever member (or tang member) and/or the blade.
Barrel crimp retention feature for connector with braided wire
A cable assembly includes coaxially arranged inner and outer barrels. The outer barrel overlaps a portion of the inner barrel. The cable assembly further includes a cable that has at least one wire surrounded by an inner insulator that is covered in a metallic shield. The metallic shield is arranged in between the inner and outer barrels. The inner barrel includes a retention feature that is arranged beneath the metallic shield. The retention feature protrudes radially outward from the inner barrel to an outermost diameter. The outer barrel includes a crimped portion that is arranged adjacent to the retention feature and has an innermost diameter that is less than the outermost diameter to capture the metallic shield therebetween and prevent the outer barrel from axial movement relative to the inner barrel.
Integrated photovoltaic cable and manufacturing method thereof
An integrated photovoltaic cable having a connecting terminal and a housing injection-molded on the connecting terminal. The connecting terminal has a connecting sheet, a through hole, and a plurality of U-shape groove sheets. Exposed conductors obtained by peeling front ends of the photovoltaic cable are respectively placed into corresponding U-shape groove sheets and crimped by a crimping plier. A manufacturing method for manufacturing the integrated photovoltaic cable includes three steps of manufacturing a connecting terminal, crimping photovoltaic wires, and injection molding a housing. An improvement of the cable connecting structure simplifies the production, improves the connecting quality, and reduces a volume of an adapter. The conductor end and the U-shape groove are firmly and conveniently connected to ensure the connection quality, reduce a contact resistance of a connecting wire, and cause a smaller volume of the adapter.
Conductor joint
A conductor joint (1) is provided for connecting two conductors along a longitudinal direction. The conductor joint comprises a first segment having a first segment end (202) adapted connecting to an end portion of a first conductor and a second segment (300) comprising a second segment end (302) relative to the longitudinal direction adapted for receiving a second conductor end of a second conductor. The second segment further has an opposite second segment end (304) fixed, or forming an integral part with, an opposite first segment end (204) of the first segment (200), a tubular sleeve (310) and a core rod (320) wherein ends (310a, 320a) of the tubular sleeve (310) and the core rod (320) are arranged with a radial offset forming a sleeve opening for receiving at the end portion of the second conductor end of the second conductor.
Electric Terminal
An electric terminal including a contact section having a locking lance locking the electric terminal in a connector housing of an electric connector and a transition section extending from the contact section and having a secondary latching with a secondary latching device latching the electric terminal in the connector housing. The locking lance is axially additionally secured in the contact section away from an attachment of the locking lance to the contact section and/or a plurality of side walls of the electric terminal are closed by a circumferential connection in the secondary latching device.
