The electrically connector assembly includes a housing defining an interior space and a locking arm. The interior space of the housing receives the electrically conductive structure. The locking arm is supported for movement relative to the housing from an unlocked position, wherein the locking arm does not retain the electrically conductive structure within the interior space, to a locked position, wherein the locking arm retains the electrically conductive structure within the interior space. An electrical contact is disposed within the housing and engages the electrically conductive structure retained within the interior space.

The first power tap housing may contain a power tap terminal configured to electrically couple with a connector terminal of an electrical connector. The power tap connector may also include a second power tap housing releasably securable to the first power tap housing and a releasable locking mechanism configured to physically secure the power tap connector to the electrical connector. Wherein the power tap terminal may be configured to electrically couple with the connector terminal via a non-mating end of the electrical connector.

A connector is provided that is easy to assemble. A terminal fitting is arranged on a base of a housing, a conductor portion is inserted into a tubular portion of a conductor connection portion, and a lid portion is assembled on the base. Thus, an insertion portion is inserted between extension portions to that intersect each other, and a diameter of the tubular portion is reduced. The conductor portion is tightened by the tubular portion, and the conductor connection portion is connected to the conductor portion. Therefore, a dedicated machine is not required to connect the terminal fitting to an electric wire, and operation of connecting the terminal fitting to the electric wire and of accommodating the terminal fitting in the housing can be performed substantially simultaneously. Thus, the connector can be easily assembled.

The mechanical advantage associated with wedges in a tapered cavity ensures that load is appropriately transferred to the walls of the wedge housing and, as the load increases, the gripping force on the electrical cable increases. In this manner, a load applied to the electrical cable is at least partially provided to the walls of the system rather than acting to pull the cable out of the adaptor, and the object to which the adaptor is connected, such as a terminal block.

The upper connecting piece 18A includes an upper protrusion 51A that abuts against the upper abutting portion 25A. The lower connecting piece 18B includes a lower protrusion 51B that abuts against the lower abutting portion 25B.

The contact assembly includes a screw. The head of the screw is disposed above the upper housing and the threaded portion of the screw extends through a threaded opening in the upper housing and into the recessed region. A resilient member of the contact assembly is disposed within the recessed region and has an end that is in mechanical communication with the end of the screw. The contact assembly further includes a plunger assembly. The plunger assembly is disposed below the resilient member and includes a conductive pin disposed therein that is urged by the resilient against center pin of the coaxial connector. Adjustment of the screw facilitates adjusting an amount of force applied by the pin against a center conductor of the transmission line.
