The first braided conductor and the second braided conductor are conductively connected to each other through the tubular member.

Connector adaptation with impedance matching

A method and apparatus utilize a data connector, a connection adapter, and a matching transformer. The data connector receives a data signal from a communication line. The connection adapter, coupled to the data connector, receives the data signal with the data connector, adapts the data signal from the data connector to a coax connector, and communicates the data signal to the coax connector. The matching transformer, coupled to a coax cable, performs impedance matching between a first impedance associated with the coax connector and a second impedance associated with the coax cable communicating the data signal.

Protection member to protect resilient arms of a contact assembly from stubbing

A cable assembly for terminating a cable. The cable assembly includes a cable assembly mating end and a cable assembly cable receiving end. A metallic outer shell is positioned proximate to the cable assembly mating end of the cable assembly. The metallic outer shell has a mating contact engagement portion. A housing made of dielectric material is positioned in the metallic outer shell. Resilient contact arms are provided on the mating contact engagement portion of the metallic outer shell. The resilient contact arms extend from proximate the cable assembly mating end. Front ends of the resilient contact arms are provided proximate the cable assembly mating end and cooperate with a protection portion of the cable assembly which extends from the cable assembly mating end to prevent the front ends of the resilient contact arms from stubbing when the cable assembly is mated to a mating assembly.

ULTRASONIC WELD INTERCONNECTION COAXIAL CONNECTOR AND INTERCONNECTION WITH COAXIAL CABLE

A coaxial connector for interconnection with a coaxial cable with a solid outer conductor by ultrasonic welding is provided with a monolithic connector body with a bore. An annular flare seat is angled radially outward from the bore toward a connector end of the connector, the annular flare seat open to the connector end of the connector. An inner conductor cap is provided for interconnection with an inner conductor of the coaxial cable by ultrasonic welding. The ultrasonic welding of each of the inner and outer conductor interconnections may be performed via inner conductor and outer conductor sonotrodes which are coaxial with one another, without requiring the cable and or connector to be removed from their fixture.

Connector Adapter And Connector Test System

A connector adapter includes a first sub-adapter directly and electrically connected with a first end of a connector and a second sub-adapter directly and electrically connected with a second end of the connector. The first end of the connector is electrically connected to a first cable through the first sub-adapter and to a test equipment through the first cable. The second end of the connector is electrically connected to a second cable through the second sub-adapter and to the test equipment through the second cable.

A connector assembly having an outer ground contact and a one piece over-molded housing and a method of assembly. The outer ground contact has an outer contact socket portion and an outer contact termination portion. The outer contact termination portion has openings which extend through a wall of the outer contact termination portion. The one piece over-molded housing has a nose cone portion, an inner dielectric portion and transition portions which extend between the nose cone portion and the inner dielectric portion. The nose cone portion is positioned outside of the outer contact termination portion. The inner dielectric portion positioned inside of the outer contact termination portion. The transition portions extend from the nose cone portion, through the openings, to the inner dielectric portion. The positioning of the transition portions in the openings securely mounts the outer grounding contact to the housing.
