Coaxial cable testing connector assemblies and methods
A coaxial cable testing assembly includes an electrically conductive fixture including first and second sections, and an electrically conductive radio frequency (RF) connector pin carried by an electrically insulative body carried by the second section. The pin extends away from the receiving area from a connection end of the pin proximate to the receiving area and through and beyond the body to a connector end of the pin. An inner contact is electrically connected to the pin at the connection end. An outer contact is electrically connected to the fixture. The inner and outer contacts electrically contact coaxial inner and outer conductors, respectively, of the end of the coaxial cable, the body electrically isolates the RF connector pin from the fixture, and the fixture frictionally engages the coaxial cable, when the end of the coaxial cable is inserted into the receiving area.
HIGH FREQUENCY ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR
An electrical connector that comprises an outer conductive shell supporting at least one signal contact therein and that includes a front end for mating with a mating connector and a back end opposite the front end for electrically connecting to a printed circuit board or a coaxial cable. A primary ground connection is located either inside or outside of the outer conductive shell. The primary ground connection is configured to electrically engage the mating connector with the printed circuit board or with the coaxial cable. A secondary ground connection is located either inside or outside of the outer conductive shell. The secondary ground connection is configured to electrically engage the mating connector with the printed circuit board or with the coaxial cable.
HIGH FREQUENCY ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY
A connector assembly that includes a receptacle with inner and outer shells which have a front end for mating with a mating connector and a back end configured to connect to a printed circuit board. Receptacle primary and secondary ground connections are located on one of the shells. A plug with an outer shell that supports a pin contact to mate with the socket contact. The outer shell of the plug has a front end for mating with the front end of the receptacle and a back end that is configured to connect to a coaxial cable. Plug primary and secondary ground connections are located on the outer shell. When the receptacle and plug are mated, the primary ground connections form a primary grounding path through the assembly and the secondary ground connections form a secondary grounding path through the assembly, thereby electrically connecting the plug with the board.
CONTINUITY PROVIDING PORT
A coaxial cable connector includes a connector body having a longitudinal axis passing through first and second opposed body ends, a connector center conductor for transporting a signal through the connector, and a coil spring that is coiled about the longitudinal axis. The second body end is for engaging a male coaxial cable connector, and the coil spring urges an electromagnetic shield to protrude from the second body end.
Coaxial connector having an outer conductor engager
A connector for a coaxial cable includes a coupler portion configured to engage an interface port, a housing portion having a forward end configured to be disposed at least partially within the coupler portion, and an outer conductor engager portion made of a conductive material disposed within the housing portion. The housing portion includes a rearward end configured to receive the coaxial cable, the housing portion is configured to move axially relative to the outer conductor engager portion, and an interior surface of the housing portion is configured to compress the outer conductor engager portion when the housing portion is moved axially relative to the outer conductor engager portion such that an interior surface of the outer conductor engager portion is compressed radially inward against an outer conductor of the coaxial cable.
High frequency electrical connector
A high frequency electrical connector that has a conductive shell supporting at least one signal contact therein with a front end for mating with a mating connector and a back end opposite the front end for electrically connecting to a printed circuit board or a coaxial cable. A primary ground connection is located inside of the conductive shell and a secondary ground connection separate from the primary ground connection is located either inside or outside of the conductive shell. The primary and secondary grounding connections define separate grounding paths of the electrical connector.
CONTACTING DEVICE FOR CONTACTING A SHIELDING CONDUCTOR OF AN ELECTRICAL LINE WITH A GROUNDING SECTION
A contacting device for contacting a shielding conductor of an electrical line with a grounding portion includes: a housing which encloses a receptacle space into which the electrical line including the shielding conductor is insertable, the housing being attachable to the grounding portion such that the grounding portion extends in the receptacle space; and a spring element which is arranged on the housing so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis from an open position into a clamping position, in order, in the clamping position, to contact the shielding conductor of the electrical line inserted into the receptacle space with the grounding portion to which the housing is attached.
Plug connection device comprising at least one plug connector
A preferred embodiment of a plug connection device for connecting a cable includes at least one plug connector Each plug connector includes at least one plug body for connecting to an outer conductor of the cable, at least one inner conductor part for connecting to an inner conductor of the cable, a housing, a securing element and a contact element plugged into the housing such that a front region of the contact element electrically contacts the outer periphery of the plug body. A fastening means supports the plug connector and is electrically connected to the contact element to establish a ground connection to another component independently of the cable.
Electrical receptacle for coaxial cable
An electrical receptacle that has a conductive body and a dielectric assembly received in the conductive body. The dielectric assembly has an entry dielectric portion, a distal support dielectric portion opposite the entry dielectric portion, and a reduced-diameter dielectric portion therebetween. An air region is defined between the inner surface of the conductive body and the reduced-diameter dielectric portion. An outer conductor is coupled to the conductive body and receives at least part of the entry dielectric portion. An inner contact is received in the dielectric assembly and has a mating interface end for receiving a corresponding mating contact, a termination end for coupling to a printed circuit board or adapter contact, and an inner through bore therebetween.
Electrical contact spring and electrical assembly including same
An electrical assembly includes a planar first member formed of a first electrically conductive material defining an aperture therethrough. The assembly also includes a second member distinct from the first member that is formed of a second electrically conductive material. The assembly further includes a contact spring formed of a third electrically conductive material disposed within the aperture. The contact spring is in physical and electrical contact with the first and second members. The contact spring has a planar base portion, an arcuate portion extending from the base portion in contact with the second member, and two winged portions extending from distal edges of the base portion. The two winged portions flank the base portion. Each of the two winged portions are in contact with an inner surface of the aperture.
