Twinax routing for tight bend radius
12469991 · 2025-11-11 · ·

A twinax cable assembly comprises a cable lacing section between the assembly end sections. The cable assembly includes twinax cable sets of twinax cables. Each cable includes a pair of conductors spaced apart in a lateral direction. Each of the cable sets has connector ends where each of the cables in the cable sets connects to a terminal component. A tie bar is mounted on one end and another tie bar is mounted on the other end between the lacing section and the ends of the cables. The cables in each cable set lace through the other cable sets with the pair of conductors in each of the twinax cables substantially aligned in the lateral direction such that when the cable assembly bends substantially around a bend axis in the lateral direction the pairs of conductors in each of the twinax cables remain substantially aligned in the lateral direction.

Twinax cable assemblies including cable lacing sections are described. An example cable assembly includes a first assembly end section, a second assembly end section, and a cable lacing section between the first and second assembly end sections, and a plurality of cable sets. Each cable set includes a plurality of cables. At least one cable set laces through at least one other cable set in the cable lacing section in one example. When the cable assembly bends substantially around a bend axis, conductors in the plurality of cable sets remain substantially aligned.

Connector and connector assembly for coupling a cable with a printed circuit board

A connector assembly includes a conductor terminal disposed on a printed circuit board (PCB), a plurality of shield terminals disposed on the PCB, a main body disposed on the PCB and accommodating the shield terminals, a cable, a housing, a cover shield connected to the housing and covering at least a portion of an end of the cable, and a base shield disposed on the PCB. The cable has an inner conductor supported by the conductor terminal, an insulator enclosing the inner conductor, a cable shield enclosing the insulator and supported by the shield terminals, and an outer jacket enclosing the cable shield. The housing is coupled to the main body, covers the cable, and is spaced apart from the PCB. The base shield is connected to the cover shield and provided in the main body to cover at least a portion of the end of the cable.
