Electrical connections for wearables and other articles

This invention is related to electrical connections in wearable garments and other articles that enable the transfer of electrical signals or electrical power from one site in the garment or article to another site on the garment or article by the use of an electrical conductor printed along the length of a sewable substrate which bridges the two sites.

ELECTRONIC APPARATUS

An electronic apparatus includes a flexible printed circuit board having a main body on which wiring pattern is formed, a connector having a connection terminal connected to the wiring constituting the wiring pattern, and a base body on which the connection terminal is fixed, and a casing. The main body is attached to the casing to be movable, the flexible printed circuit board has an extension part protruding from the main body and extending along with a ground included in the wiring pattern, the extension part bends in the middle of extending to be capable of expansion and contraction, and has a mounting part fixed to the casing on the tip side thereof, the mounting part is provided with a ground terminal connected to the ground extended, and the ground terminal is electrically connected to the casing in the state that the mounting part is fixed to the casing.

ELECTRONIC APPARATUS

An electronic apparatus includes a flexible printed circuit board having a main body on which wiring pattern is formed, a connector having a connection terminal connected to the wiring constituting the wiring pattern, and a base body on which the connection terminal is fixed, and a casing. The main body is attached to the casing to be movable, the flexible printed circuit board has an extension part protruding from the main body and extending along with a ground included in the wiring pattern, the extension part bends in the middle of extending to be capable of expansion and contraction, and has a mounting part fixed to the casing on the tip side thereof, the mounting part is provided with a ground terminal connected to the ground extended, and the ground terminal is electrically connected to the casing in the state that the mounting part is fixed to the casing.

Method for contacting a contact surface on a flexible circuit with a metal contact, crimping part, connection of flexible circuit and metal contact and control device

The disclosure relates to a method for contacting a contact surface on a flexible circuit board with a metal contact outside the flexible circuit board, with the aid of a press-fit pin. An attachment piece having a sleeve for receiving the press-fit pin is a mechanically and electrically coupled to the flexible circuit board.

The disclosure relates to a method for contacting a contact surface on a flexible circuit board with a metal contact outside the flexible circuit board, with the aid of a press-fit pin. An attachment piece having a sleeve for receiving the press-fit pin is a mechanically and electrically coupled to the flexible circuit board.

CONNECTOR

Provided is a connector including: at least one plate-like housing body; a plurality of groove-like terminal housing chambers each opened in an upper surface of the housing body and parallelly arranged; a plurality of connection terminals provided at ends of a plurality of electrical wirings and housed and disposed in the terminal housing chambers, respectively; an electrical wiring support part supporting the plurality of electrical wirings extending from a back end side opening part of the terminal housing chambers; a sheet-like reinforced member which is placed on an upper surface of the electrical wiring support part and the plurality of electrical wirings are fixed to in a state of parallelly arranged; and a cover part overlapping with the upper surface of the housing body to cover the terminal housing chambers and sandwiching the sheet-like reinforced member between the cover part and the electrical wiring support part.

BOARD WITH TERMINAL

A terminal 20 includes a terminal connection portion 21 connected to a counterpart terminal and a board connection portion 24 connected to a conductive path 13 of a board 11. The board connection portion 24 has a plate shape portion 25 that is a plate shape. The plate shape portion is disposed behind the terminal connection portion 21 and is soldered to the conductive path 13 of the board 11. The board connection portion has a plate-shape first projection walls 28A to 28D that are bent from edge portions of a lateral direction side of the plate shape portion 25 and that project to an opposite side to the board 11 side. The plate shape portion 25 and the first projection walls 28A to 28D have a plating layer 37 that is formed on a plate surface of the plate shape portion and the first projection walls.

BOARD WITH TERMINAL

A terminal 20 includes a terminal connection portion 21 connected to a counterpart terminal and a board connection portion 24 connected to a conductive path 13 of a board 11. The board connection portion 24 has a plate shape portion 25 that is a plate shape. The plate shape portion is disposed behind the terminal connection portion 21 and is soldered to the conductive path 13 of the board 11. The board connection portion has a plate-shape first projection walls 28A to 28D that are bent from edge portions of a lateral direction side of the plate shape portion 25 and that project to an opposite side to the board 11 side. The plate shape portion 25 and the first projection walls 28A to 28D have a plating layer 37 that is formed on a plate surface of the plate shape portion and the first projection walls.

An input device includes a support base member, a sensor unit having a plurality of electrode units (first electrodes and second electrodes) provided on the support base member, an extension extending outward from the support base member, a lead wire provided along a first principal surface of the extension and electrically conductive with the plurality of electrode units, and a flexible wiring substrate having a connection terminal electrically conductive with the lead wire in a principal surface and disposed facing the first principal surface of the extension. The extension has a bend allowance section that allows bending between an extension end and a connection base connected to the support base member. The lead wire is electrically conductive with the connection terminal at the extension-end side of the extension relative to the bend allowance section. A cover is provided entirely over the lead wire located at the bend allowance section.
