A connector includes an enclosure having a top wall provided with a fitting and a mounting section; a retaining member including a main body fitted in the fitting section, an extended section extended forward from the main body and having a hook section projected beyond the top wall for retaining a mating female connector thereto, and an elastic section extended rearward from the main body and located in the mounting section; and a linkage assembly holding the retaining member between it and the mounting section and including a first linking member located above the elastic section and a second linking member connected to the first linking member and the enclosure. When the second linking member is pulled, the first linking member is brought to push the elastic section downward, such that the main body, the extended section and the hook section elastically bias downward simultaneously to release the female connector.

Spring clip and connector for a flat flexible cable

A spring clip for a flat flexible cable includes a first beam and a second beam connected to the first beam and resiliently deflectable toward the first beam. The second beam has a first contact bend extending toward the first beam. The flat flexible cable is positioned between the first beam and the second beam and the first contact bend abuts a conductor exposed through an insulation material of the flat flexible cable to electrically connect the spring clip with the conductor.

Connector

Looseness of two housings are suppressed. A connector includes a lower housing and an upper housing. The lower housing is provided with a locking portion. The upper housing is provided with an elastic locking piece that is hooked on the locking portion. The elastic locking piece has a cantilever shape, and restricts relative movement of the lower housing and the upper housing in a separation direction, which is a direction opposite to a coupling direction. The lower housing is provided with a protruding piece portion that protrude outward in a left-right direction. The upper housing is provided with a protruding piece restriction portion that restricts movement of the protruding piece portion. The protruding piece restriction portion is provided with an inclined surface that is inclined in an assembly direction to reduce a movable range of the protruding piece portion in a separation direction.
