A spring-actuated electrical connector assembly for electrically and mechanically connecting a device to a power source in high-power, high-voltage applications is disclosed. The connector assembly includes a first connector with an internal receiver, a plurality of side walls, and at least one contact beam. The contact beam integrally extends to an outer surface of the side wall and includes a free end that extends inward of the outer surface of the side wall. An internal spring member is dimensioned to reside within the receiver of the first connector. This assembly also includes a second electrically conductive connector with a receptacle dimensioned to receive both the first connector and the spring member to define a connected position during operation of the device. In the connected position, at least one spring arm of the spring member exerts an outwardly directed force on the contact beam of the first connector to outwardly displace the contact beam into engagement with the second connector.

A coaxial connector comprises an outer conductor, an inner conductor, and a dielectric spacer disposed between the outer conductor and the inner conductor. The inner conductor includes a first inner conductor component and a second inner conductor component configured to be floatable axially and radially relative to the first inner conductor component. The coaxial connector further includes a first elastic element disposed around an outer circumference of the proximal portion of the second outer conductor component, and a second elastic element disposed in the cavity of the first inner conductor component. The coaxial connector is self-adaptive for the mating, and is particularly suitable for board-to-board connector assemblies and may ensure a high return loss performance and good PIM characteristics.

Electrical terminal and connector assembly

In some embodiments, an electrical terminal includes a contact formed and a hood surrounding the contact. The contact and hood have cooperating retention features for securing the contact to the hood, and the hood provides strengthening features for improving the mechanical properties of the contact. The electrical terminal is mounted in a connector assembly. The electrical terminal has features which prevent or minimize damage to a seal of the connector assembly.
