Aerial lighting fixture connector

A system to couple a controller to a roadside aerial lighting fixture includes a primary male connector integrated with the controller and a primary female connector integrated with the roadside aerial lighting fixture. The primary male and female connectors are compliant with a roadway area lighting standard promoted by a standards body. The primary male connector protrudes from a first substantially planar surface of the controller. The primary female connector is recessed within a second substantially planar surface of the roadside aerial lighting fixture. A controller-side data connector protrudes from the first substantially planar surface or a third surface substantially parallel to the first substantially planar surface. A fixture-side data connector is recessed within the second substantially planar surface or recessed within a fourth surface substantially parallel to the second substantially planar surface. When the controller is rotatably coupled to the roadside aerial lighting fixture, the primary male connector is electrically coupled to the primary female connector, and the controller-side data connector is communicatively coupled to the fixture-side data connector.

The clamping connector includes a first shell member and a second shell member. The first shell member and the second shell member each include a tab extending from a first side, which defines a tab aperture and a protrusion extending from the first side. The first shell member and the second shell member each also include a hinge aperture, which is oriented along a first axis on a second side. The protrusion of the first shell member extends into the tab aperture of the tab of the second shell member and when the first shell member is secured to the second shell member the protrusion of the second shell member extends into the tab aperture of the tab of the first shell member. The clamping connector further includes a hinge pin, which is received by the hinge apertures of the first and second shell members to rotatably couple the first shell member and the second shell members.

Shielded electrical connector assembly and method of manufacturing same

A shielded electrical connector assembly includes an electromagnetic shield integrally formed from a single sheet of conductive material. The shield has a main wall and four side walls surrounding the main wall. The shield defines an opening opposite the main wall having an opening perimeter that is greater than or equal to a main wall perimeter. One of the four side walls defines at least one side wall opening that is configured to receive a shielded wire cable. A method of manufacturing the shielded electrical connector assembly includes the steps of providing a single planar sheet of conductive material, providing a die and a punch, forming the sheet into a cupped shape having a main wall and four side walls surrounding the main wall using the die and the punch, and forming a side wall opening in one of the four side walls.

Sealed connector assembly

A connector assembly includes a female connector body and a male connector body defining a shroud configured to receive the female connector body. The electrical connector assembly further includes a resilient seal axially surrounding a portion of the female connector body. The seal is disposed intermediate the female connector body and the shroud. The connector assembly additionally includes a seal retainer attached to the female connector body. The female connector body defines an outwardly extending retaining ledge on the forward portion of the female connector body. The seal defines an inwardly extending retaining hook engaging the retaining ledge. A portion of the retaining hook is disposed intermediate the female connector body and the seal retainer.

Contact Assembly For A Connector Housing, Connector Housing As Well As Connector Assembly And Modular Connector Set With Such A Connector Housing

A contact assembly for a connector housing includes an adapter element and a contact element. The adapter element has a sleeve with a lead-through opening extending in an axial direction of the sleeve and with a threaded bore extending perpendicularly to the lead-through opening through the sleeve. The contact element is adapted to be inserted into the lead-through opening and latched to the sleeve. The contact element may exhibit varying types of a cable connection section and/or a contact section. The adapter element is receivable within the connector housing and may accept the contact element regardless of the type of cable connection section and/or contact section.
