The terminal includes a crimp portion crimped to have a polygonal cross-sectional shape, and a flange portion located forward of the crimp portion when the terminal has been inserted in the terminal receiving portion, the flange portion protruding circumferentially outward beyond the crimp portion. The retainer includes a fitting portion fitted around the crimp portion of the terminal including at least one corner of the crimp portion in an attached state in which the terminal has been received in the terminal receiving portion in a normal position and the retainer has been attached in an engagement position, and an abutment portion in abutment with the flange portion of the terminal from behind in the attached state.

ELECTRONIC PORT HAVING A LOCKING ASSEMBLY FOR SECURING AN ELECTRONIC PLUG
20230034099 · 2023-02-02 ·

Example implementations relate to an electronic port of an electronic device, having a locking assembly to secure an electronic plug within the electronic device. The electronic port includes a receptacle, and the locking assembly including a rocker switch, a bracket, and an elastic arm. The receptacle is releasably connectable to a connector of the electronic plug. The rocker switch is pivotably connected to an enclosure of the electronic device. The bracket extends from the rocker switch, and disposed around a first end portion of the receptacle. The elastic arm includes a locking tab engaged with the bracket, and a seating tab seated on a second end portion of the receptacle. Where, in relaxed state of the elastic arm, lock features of the locking tab protrudes into the receptacle, and where the elastic arm is deformable from relaxed state to biased state to pull the lock features out of the receptacle.

Magnetic cable adapters and connectors and methods of installing cables implementing same

A magnetic adapter for a cable connector includes a main body having an opening, a compression surface exposed within the opening and configured to compress a biasing retention clip of the cable connector, at least one locking surface configured to secure the biasing retention clip in a second non-locking position; and at least one magnet adjacent the opening. When the biasing retention clip is positioned within the opening, the compression surface causes the biasing retention clip to move from a first locking position where the retention clip is in a fully biased position to the second non-locking position where the retention clip is compressed.
