An electrical connector assembly includes a female connector, which includes a female connector housing defining a cavity having an hourglass shape and a first array of electrically-conductive pins disposed within the cavity. The electrical connector assembly further includes a male connector that includes a male connector housing having an hourglass-shaped protrusion dimensioned to be inserted into and fit tightly within the cavity and a second array of electrically-conductive sockets, which are contained within the protrusion and are dimensioned and aligned so that upon insertion of the protrusion into the cavity, each of the pins is introduced into and makes electrical contact with a respective one of the sockets.

Connecting Terminal and A Connecting Assembly

The present invention provides a connecting terminal for connecting a wire, including: a body; a clip portion extending from both sides of the body and configured to hold a conductor of a wire; and a fixing part extending from both sides of the body, including: a clamping part configured to clamp an insulating layer of the wire; and a stopping part formed on the clamping part and configured to abut the terminal position assurance device to enable the connecting terminal to be fixed in the housing when the connecting terminal is mounted in the housing of the connecting assembly. Since the fixing part has both a clamping part for clamping the wire and a stopping part forming an appropriate height difference with the wire, the connecting terminal provided by the present invention becomes more compact and miniaturized.

A connector for connection to a mating connector includes a connector housing having a contact chamber configured to accommodate a contact assembly extending from a contact side toward a mating side, and a secondary retention means having two mounting arms and a securing element disposed therebetween. The connector housing has an access opening. The secondary retention means is movable between a pre-latched and a final latched position. One of the mounting arms has a first latching unit which, in the final latched position, is connected to a first mating latching unit disposed on the connector housing. One of the mounting arms has a locking element extending away parallel to a mating axis, which in the pre-latched position, blocks connection to the mating connector. In the final latched position, the securing element extends through the access opening into the contact chamber and locks the contact assembly in place.

Connector assembly and method for manufacturing the same

A connector assembly includes: a housing having a plurality of accommodating grooves into which a plurality of terminals are insertable, respectively, and having an insertion space recessed in a first direction intersecting a second direction in which the accommodating grooves extend, the plurality of accommodating grooves being formed in one surface of the housing; a terminal position assurance (TPA) mechanism inserted into the insertion space of the housing in the first direction, having a plurality of through-holes extending parallel to the plurality of accommodating grooves, and inhibiting the terminals inserted into the through-holes from being separated; joint terminals extending from an inside of the housing to the accommodating grooves, and electrically connected to the terminals inserted into the accommodating grooves; and a noise filter fixed to the housing or the TPA mechanism, and enclosing the accommodating grooves of the housing, the through-holes of the TPA mechanism, or the joint terminals.
