CONNECTOR
It is aimed to improve anti-vibration performance. A connector includes a terminal holding member made of synthetic resin for holding terminal fittings and a case made of metal for accommodating one end part of each terminal fitting by being integrated with the terminal holding member. The case includes a displacement restricting portion having an irregular shape, and the displacement restricting portion is formed on a contact surface of the case with the terminal holding member. When the case made of metal and the terminal holding member made of synthetic resin are thermally deformed, an anchoring effect by the engagement of the displacement restricting portion and the terminal holding member is achieved on the contact surface of the case with the terminal holding member to suppress relative displacements between the case and the terminal holding member.
Wire with terminal
A wire with terminal WT1 is provided with a wire 2 including a core 2B and an insulation coating 2C covering around the core 2B, and a terminal 1 including a coating crimping portion 50 crimped to the insulation coating 2C. The wire 2 is pulled out rearward from the terminal 1. A water cut-off member 60 for suppressing liquid intrusion into the core 2B is disposed between an inner peripheral surface 20A of the coating crimping portion 50 and an outer peripheral surface 2A of the insulation coating 2C. The coating crimping portion 50 is provided with an oblique extending portion 70 for reducing the outflow of the water cut-off member 60 to outside due to crimping.
Electrical connector with short circuit prevention features
The present disclosure an electrical connector having an insulating body and a number of conductive terminals. The insulating body includes a base portion and an extension portion. The extension portion includes a first surface and a second surface. The conductive terminals include a number of first contact portions located on a same side of the first surface and a number of second contact portions located on a same side of the second surface. At least part of surfaces of the first contact portions do not protrude beyond the first surface. At least part of surfaces of the second contact portions do not protrude beyond the second surface. As a result, the electrical connector of the present disclosure can avoid a short circuit problem between adjacent conductive terminals due to accumulation of a certain degree of dirt.
Moisture-sealed connector
A method of forming a fluid resistant insulator for use in a connector includes collecting a part having a surface and electrically insulating properties. The method further includes applying a superhydrophobic sealant to the surface of the part having the electrically insulating properties. The method further includes curing the part with the superhydrophobic sealant applied to allow the superhydrophobic sealant to dry.
MULTI-USE CONNECTOR FOR TRACER WIRE
Trace wire connectors that include a cover that can be attached to a base and used to electrically interconnect two or more tracer wires without having to remove insulation from the tracer wires. The cover has multiple portals that permit one or more tracer wires to pass into an inner cavity of the cover. The base has multiple cradles on which tracer wires passing into the cavity can rest. The cover can be oriented relative to the base for use with a through tracer wire and a dead-end tracer wire, or for use with multiple dead-end tracer wires.
Assemblage for blocking water
A solid ring-conductor assemblage (20) blocks water from migrating in the axial direction of an electrical stranded conductor (1). The solid ring-conductor assemblage (20) has a ring and an electrical stranded conductor. The diameter of an initial opening of the ring exceeds an outer diameter of the stranded conductor (1). The solid ring-conductor assemblage (20) is obtained by the process of placing the ring in an installed position where the electrical stranded conductor (1) runs through the initial opening. A compressive force (F) is applied onto the ring (2) in the installed position thereby compressing the ring (2) as well as the portion of the electrical stranded conductor (1) as covered by the ring into a compressed state. The compressed ring and the compressed portion of the electrical stranded conductor bonds as an entity providing the solid ring-conductor assemblage (20). A ring is provided to obtain the solid ring-conductor assemblage; a cable has a stranded electrical conductor where at least one ring is compressed around the electrical stranded conductor; and a method includes manufacturing an electrical stranded conductor arranged with at least one solid ring-conductor assemblage.
TERMINAL BLOCK
A terminal block that is to be provided on a housing of a device that is to be mounted on a vehicle, the terminal block including: a seating that is to be fixed to the housing so as to close an opening of the housing; a tubular fitting that is formed on a front surface of the seating and is to be fitted to a mating connector; and a ring-shaped seal that is provided on a back surface of the seating.
Underwater mateable and un-mateable electrical connector
A receptacle unit of a connector for sealably engaging and disengaging contacts therein can include one or more closed inner chambers. At least one of the one or more inner chambers being configured to contain a receptacle contact. Each receptacle contact can be configured to engage a plug contact of a plug unit of a connector. A closed cavity can be at least partially in contact with each inner chamber. The closed cavity can contain a deformable material. At least a portion of the closed cavity can be configured to be movable with respect to another portion of the closed cavity to permit balancing of pressure of the deformable material within the closed cavity to pressure outside of the closed cavity.
Pressure isolation across a conductor
A sensor apparatus for wellbore applications includes an electrical conductor extending within an armored tubular jacket to protect the electrical conductor. The electrical conductor is isolated from wellbore fluids when the sensor is placed in a wellhead flange by redundant seals such that the tubular jacket around the conductor does not provide a leak path to the surrounding subsea or surface environment. To isolate the electrical conductor, a connector housing may be provided that establishes a glass-metal seal or a PEEK-metal seal with the electrical conductor. The connector housing may be welded or otherwise sealed to a Christmas tree flange that connects to the wellhead flange. The welds and seals of the sensor apparatus may be proof tested to ensure their effectiveness before the Christmas tree flange is installed in the subsea or surface environment.
Elastomer seal spring
The seal spring of the present invention has a dual functionality. The seal spring provides both a sealing property and spring function in use within an electrical connector system, which is accomplished by its elastomeric qualities. The seal spring is preferably comprised of Silicone, EPDM rubber or materials and compositions that provide similar performance during use, or the like. The seal spring of the present invention is not limited or defined into a spring section or a seal section by its geometry. Shown is an implementation of the seal spring within a conductive female housing and connector assembly. The seal spring compresses and provides adequate spring force against a disk ferrule assembly, pressing the disk ferrule assembly, with a wire shield, against a conductive female outer housing, providing a grounding scheme for the connector assembly. The seal spring also seals against the female outer housing and a wire.
