A gel filled electrical connector is disclosed and claimed. The connector has a base configured to house a gel fill insulating material and a plurality of 10-gauge or larger diameter wires; the base comprising a plurality of wire receptacles to receive a plurality of wires in a cavity in the base; a top cover sized to be securely and removably attached to the base, wherein the top cover comprises a plurality of wire connectors to strip insulation from the plurality of wire and to electrically connect the plurality of wires; and a gel deposited into the cavity to provide moisture resistance to the plurality of wires and plurality of wire connectors.

An improved wellhead electrical connection assembly utilizing multiple sealing mechanisms to minimize pressure and fluid leakage without reliance on epoxies or other sealants. The assembly utilizes upper and lower sealing systems to provide protection at both ends of the electrical connection.

A connector for sealably engaging contacts therein and permitting reliable disengagement thereof includes a first unit having one or more elongated shafts. Each elongated shaft includes at least one first contact. The connector further includes a second unit having a body with one or more channels therein. Each channel includes at least one second contact. Each channel is configured to receive at least a portion of one of the elongated shafts therein to permit electrical connection of the one or more first contacts to the respective one or more second contacts. The second unit further includes an axial slit extending radially outwardly from each channel toward an outer surface of the body of the second unit. Provided are load bearing universal adaptors for connecting electrical cables in a watertight configuration. The mechanical advantage associated with wedges in a tapered cavity ensures that load is appropriately transferred to the walls of the wedge housing. In this manner, a load applied to the electrical cable is at least partially provided to the walls of the system rather than acting to pull the cable out of the adaptor, and the object to which the adaptor is connected, such as a terminal block.

A configurable subsea wet-mateable connector includes a receptacle connector body and a plug connector body. The subsea receptacle connector unit includes at least two receptacle inserts chosen from at least one of a power connector unit, a data connector unit, an optical fibre connector unit, a pneumatic connector unit or a fluid connector unit. The subsea plug connector unit includes at least two plug inserts having the same two of a power connector unit, a data connector unit, an optical fibre connector unit, a pneumatic connector unit or a fluid connector unit.
