Contact Terminal With At Least One Impedance Control Feature

A contact terminal includes a terminal shield, a contact carrier, and a contact element for conducting electrical signals of a high-frequency data transmission. The contact carrier retains the contact element in a fixed position within the terminal shield. The terminal shield has a discontinuity that affects an impedance of the contact element. At least one of the contact carrier and the contact element has an impedance control feature configured to adjust the impedance of the contact element to a predefined desired value according to a frequency of the data transmission.

Cover Assembly With At Least One Impedance Control Structure

A cover assembly includes a protective cover having an impedance control structure and a plurality of electrical conductors conducting electrical signals of a high-frequency data transmission. The electrical conductors extend through the protective cover in a transmission direction and are overlappingly bonded to each other at a bond location located within the protective cover. The impedance control structure adjusts an impedance of the bond location to a predefined value.

Cable connector for high speed interconnects

A cable termination that provides low signal distortion even at high frequencies. Conductive elements of the cable are fused to edges of signal conductors in a cable connector or other component terminating the cable. For terminating a differential pair, the conductive elements of the cable may be terminated to opposing edges of a pair of signal conductors in the cable termination. The conductive elements may be shaped such that the spacing between signal paths passing through the conductive elements of the cable and into the signal conductors of the cable termination is uniform.

RF CONNECTOR ELEMENT AND RF CONNECTOR SYSTEM

A first RF connector element mating with a second RF connector element includes a first terminal having a first contact region, a second terminal having a second contact region, and a first electrical insulator element electrically insulating the first terminal and the second terminal. The first electrical insulator element has a first contact support part and a first compensation part. The first contact support part is integrally formed of a first dielectric material and has a first relative dielectric constant. The first compensation part is integrally formed with the first contact support part of a second dielectric material, the second dielectric material having a second relative dielectric constant greater than the first relative dielectric constant. The first compensation part is arranged at a front end region of the first electrical insulator element and at least partly encompasses the first contact region.

An electrical connector includes an insulative elongated housing, and a plurality of contacts retained to the housing. The housing includes a base extending along the longitudinal direction and a mating tongue extending forwardly from the base in a front-to-back direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. Each contact includes a contacting/mating section exposed upon the mating tongue. The contacts include a plurality of differential-pair signal contacts and a plurality of grounding contacts alternately arranged with each other along the longitudinal direction. Each differential-pair signal contact is associated with a metallic wiping piece in front with a tiny gap so as to have the distance between the rear end of the contacting section and the front edge of the wiping piece is still equal to 3.9 mm which is regulated by the industry standard specification as a full length of the contacting section of the traditional contact.
