ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR
20200381869 · 2020-12-03 ·

An electrical connector includes: an insulating block, provided with at least one adjusting groove; and a plurality of terminals, fixed to the insulating block and arranged in at least one row. The terminals include at least one pair of differential signal terminals and at least two ground terminals. Each of two opposite sides of the pair of differential signal terminals is provided with a corresponding one of the ground terminals. The adjusting groove is provided between only one of the two opposite sides of the pair of differential signal terminals and the corresponding one of the ground terminals, such that electric charges and electric fields between the pair of differential signal terminals and the ground terminals at the two sides are not distributed uniformly, thus reducing the ground mode resonance of the ground terminals to the differential signal terminals, and improving the high frequency performance of the electrical connector.

Card edge connector having a contact positioner

A card edge connector includes a housing including a card slot open to a cavity and a contact assembly received in the cavity. The contact assembly has a contact positioner holding upper contacts in an upper contact array and lower contacts in a lower contact array. The contact positioner has a positioner card slot. The contacts include intermediate portions extending between mating beams and contact tails. The contact arrays include separate and discrete front and rear contact holders. The front contact holder is positioned between the mating beams and the intermediate portions. The rear contact holder is positioned between the intermediate portions and the contact tails.

Single wire communication arrangement

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an arrangement for single wire communications (SWC) for an electronic device. In one instance, the arrangement may comprise a cable assembly to connect with the electronic device, wherein the cable assembly may include a wire to conduct SWC and a cover portion to cover a portion of the wire. The cover portion may comprise a ferro-dielectric material. The arrangement may further include a control logic coupled with the cable assembly, to adjust characteristics associated with the ferro-dielectric material, to tune a signal termination impedance value associated with the cable assembly. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY HAVING CABLED RECEPTACLE CONNECTOR

A cabled receptacle connector includes a receptacle housing having a cavity extending between a front and a rear and having a mating slot receiving a pluggable module. A cable assembly is received in the cavity having wafers provided at an end of a cable bundle. Each wafer has a dielectric frame holding a wafer lead frame having signal contacts and ground contacts. The signal and ground contacts have terminating ends terminated to corresponding cables and mating ends received in the mating slot for mating with the pluggable module. Each wafer has a ground bus frame electrically coupled to each of the ground contacts to electrically common each of the ground contacts. The ground bus includes ground beams having mounting arms coupled to the dielectric frame and mating pads coupled to corresponding ground contacts. The mating ends of the signal contacts and the ground contacts are arranged in multiple rows for interfacing with the pluggable module.

CONNECTOR FOR HIGH-FREQUENCY TRANSMISSIONS IN THE AUTOMOTIVE FIELD, IMPEDANCE IMPROVING ELEMENT, CONNECTION ASSEMBLY, METHOD OF IMPROVING THE IMPEDANCE IN A CONNECTOR

A connector including a contact element arranged in an interior of the connector and contacting an electrical connection element and an impedance improving element located at a side of the electrical connection element. The impedance improving element has a reception channel through which the contact element extends and a deformation section adapted to be deformed at least one of radially and axially.

An electrical connector includes multiple signal terminals and multiple ground terminals paired to form multiple terminal groups and arranged in one row in a body. One signal terminal and one ground terminal form a first terminal group. Two signal terminals form a second terminal group. One ground terminal and one signal terminal form a third terminal group. An arrangement order of the two terminals in the third terminal group is different from an arrangement order of the two terminals in the first terminal group. Each terminal has a conducting portion. The conducting portions of the terminals in a same terminal group bend in a same direction, and the conducting portions of the terminals in adjacent terminal groups bend in opposite directions. The second terminal group is located between the first terminal group and the third terminal group, and between the adjacent ground terminals.
