A probe element includes a conduction pin, a cylindrical barrel, and a bushing. The barrel accommodates the conduction pin inside thereof such that the tip portion of the conduction pin is exposed to the outside. The bushing holds the conduction pin inside the barrel in a state in which the tip portion is movable, and has predetermined permittivity. The conduction pin includes a tip portion, an intermediate portion partially accommodating the tip portion, and a cylindrical socket portion coupled to the intermediate portion. A distance between the socket portion and the inner wall surface of the barrel, and a distance between the intermediate portion and the inner wall surface of the barrel in a direction orthogonal to an extending direction of the barrel are different from each other.

COAXIAL TERMINAL, COAXIAL CONNECTOR, WIRING BOARD, AND ELECTRONIC COMPONENT TESTING APPARATUS

A coaxial terminal includes a signal terminal, a tubular ground terminal that covers the signal terminal, and an insulating member interposed between the signal terminal and the ground terminal. The signal terminal includes a main body that is covered by the insulating member, an upper contact piece that extends from the main body to +Z direction side, and a lower contact piece that extends from the main body to −Z direction side. The insulating member has an opening through which a part of the main body is exposed. A following formula (1) is satisfied:

L.sub.2≥½×L.sub.1  (1)

where L.sub.1 is a length of the insulating member along an axial direction of the coaxial terminal, L.sub.2 is a length of the opening along the axial direction.

TERMINAL MODULE AND BACKPLANE CONNECTOR HAVING THE TERMINAL MODULE

A terminal module includes a number of conductive terminals and an insulating frame. The conductive terminal includes a contact portion, a connection portion and a transition portion connected to the contact portion. The conductive terminals include differential signal terminals, a first ground terminal and a second ground terminal. The contact portions of the differential signal terminals and the connection portions of the differential signal terminals are provided separately. As a result, the structure of the contact portions and the connection portions are simplified for easy manufacturing. The disclosure also discloses a backplane connector having the terminal module.

An electrical connector includes: an insulative housing having a row of slots defined by plural dividing walls thereof, and plural contacts secured in the insulative housing and each including a securing portion, a front contacting portion disposed in a corresponding slot, and a rear tail, wherein the plurality of dividing walls includes a group of first dividing walls each having a first length and a group of second dividing walls each having a second length along a front-to-back direction, and the first length is shorter than the second length to expose to air a larger extent of the front contacting portions of associated contacts disposed in the slots defined by the group of first dividing walls with respect to the front contacting portions of associated contacts disposed in the slots defined by the group of second dividing walls.

Cover assembly with at least one impedance control structure

A cover assembly includes a protective cover having an impedance control structure and a plurality of electrical conductors conducting electrical signals of a high-frequency data transmission. The electrical conductors extend through the protective cover in a transmission direction and are overlappingly bonded to each other at a bond location located within the protective cover. The impedance control structure adjusts an impedance of the bond location to a predefined value.

Electrical connector

An electrical connector includes an insulative elongated housing, and a plurality of contacts retained to the housing. The housing includes a base extending along the longitudinal direction and a mating tongue extending forwardly from the base in a front-to-back direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. Each contact includes a contacting/mating section exposed upon the mating tongue. The contacts include a plurality of differential-pair signal contacts and a plurality of grounding contacts alternately arranged with each other along the longitudinal direction. Each differential-pair signal contact is associated with a metallic wiping piece in front with a tiny gap so as to have the distance between the rear end of the contacting section and the front edge of the wiping piece is still equal to 3.9 mm which is regulated by the industry standard specification as a full length of the contacting section of the traditional contact.
