Electrical connector module with shielding members engaging upon connection to a mating connector
11515673 · 2022-11-29 · ·

Provided is a connector module that is highly durable and that also allows easy position alignment with a connection target instrument while maintaining high shielding performance. The connector module includes a connector case and a connector inserted in the connector case. The connector includes a contact, a holder, a conductive tubular shell, a housing and a conductive shield case. The shield case includes a first member having an elastic portion and a second member in the form of a bottomed tube. The first member forms an elastic piece contactable with the second member. Fixing of the connector case to a main body case via a fastener member causes, in the connector, elastic deformation of the elastic piece, resulting in decrease in a gap between the first member and the second member, consequently in establishment of electrical connection between the first member and the second member.

RECEPTACLE CONNECTOR WITH FLEXIBLE INSERTION DIRECTIONS

A receptacle connector includes an insulating portion, a receptacle terminal module mounted to the insulating portion, a metal shell enclosing the insulating portion, and a receptacle circuit board. The insulating portion includes a receiving space and a mating space extending from the receiving space. The mating space extends through the insulating portion to form a mating port. The receptacle terminal module includes a first terminal module and a second terminal module. The first terminal module and the second terminal module have a same structure, and are symmetrically arranged on opposite sides of the mating space. The first terminal module and the second terminal module are electrically connected to the receptacle circuit board.

Circuit board cable connector with more than one mounting configuration

To provide a connector for which cost can be reduced. A first connector 1 includes first metal members 10A that function as terminals and second metal members 10B that function as reinforcing brackets. Each first metal member 10A and second metal member 10B include a main body part 11, a first edge part 15, a second edge part 16, and a third edge part 17. A first edge part 15 of the first metal member 10A is positioned on the upper side of the main body part 11 that is the side that receives the mating connector. The second metal member 10B is retained in a different orientation from the first metal member 10A. The first edge part 15 of the second metal member 10B is positioned below the main body part 11 of the second metal member 10B and can be attached to a first circuit board B1 arranged on the lower side of the first connector 1. The third edge part 17 of the second metal member 10B is positioned more in the Y1 direction than the main body part 11 of the second metal member 10B and can be attached to the second circuit board B2 arranged in the Y1 direction with respect to the first connector 1.

CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY

A connector assembly comprises a first connector and a second connector mateable with each other. The first connector comprises a first shell which has a first mateable portion and a first key. The first key is located outward of the first mateable portion. The second connector comprises a second shell which has a second mateable portion and comprises a housing which has a projecting end and a second key. The projecting end faces the first connector when the first connector and the second connector are under a separated state where they are separated from each other. The second key is a groove which extends from the projecting end. When the first connector and the second connector are mated with each other, the second mateable portion is received in the first mateable portion, and the first key is received in the second key.
