For this purpose, ground plug-in contacts (4′, 5′), likewise of a crimping configuration, are fitted in formations (13, 13′, 23, 23′) of the contact carriers (1, 2) for electrical contacting with metallic protective earthing elements (3, 3′, 3″, 3″). For said contacting, the formations (13, 13′, 23, 23′) have a respective opening (130, 130′) or passage (230, 230′). In the formations (13, 13′, 23, 23′), not only ground plug-in contacts (4′, 5′) but also further plug-in contacts (4, 5) are arranged, so that the number of plug-in contacts (4, 5) of the plug-in connector is increased considerably.
Connector assembly with an intermediate insulating member and a potting material that fills a portion in an outer conductor more on the front side than on the front surface of the intermediate insulating member

A shield cage assembly of the present disclosure comprises a metal shield shell and a heat dissipating module. The metal shield shell comprises a plurality of walls and an accommodating space defined by the plurality of walls, and the accommodating space has a front end port. The heat dissipating module is assembled to one of the walls of the metal shield shell, and the metal shield shell further includes side walls respectively positioned at two sides of the wall to which the heat dissipating module is assembled. The heat dissipating module further includes a frame and a first heat dissipating member, the frame having a frame body formed at a central portion of the frame to receive the first heat dissipating member and two side plates which extend from two side edges of the frame and which are parallel to the side walls.
Making upper and lower contacts of an electrical connector from a single contact carrier
A method of making an electrical connector which includes an insulative housing having a tongue with two opposite surfaces and plural contacts with contacting portions exposed to the two opposite surfaces of the tongue is characterized by the steps of: forming the plurality of contacts from a single contact carrier to have one group of contacts thereof each with a respective contacting portion connected to a first carrier strip and the other group of contacts thereof each with a respective contacting portion connected to a second carrier strip situated beside the first carrier strip; insert-molding the plurality of contacts with an insulator to form the insulative housing while exposing front ends of the plurality of contacts; and severing the first carrier strip and the second carrier strip from the front ends of the plurality of contacts.
Electrical connector and connector device
An electrical connector is attached to a wiring substrate and mated with a counterpart connector connected to a signal transmission medium. A shell of the electrical connector has a pair of wall parts that contact a ground member on the counterpart connector. One wall part distant from the signal transmission medium includes a first side plate that has one end attached to a ground conductive path of the wiring substrate and extends in a direction away from the wiring substrate, a joining part that has one end joined to another end of the first side plate, and a second side plate that has one end joined to another end of the joining part and extends in a direction closer to the wiring substrate. The second side plate has a contact piece that extends in a direction away from the wiring substrate and elastically contacts the ground member.
