USB CONNECTOR HAVING AN IMPROVED GROUNDING

A Universal Serial Bus connector includes a first contact module, a second contact module, a shielding shell enclosing the contact modules, and a grounding member. The contact modules each have a number of contacts and an insulator retaining the contacts. Each contact has a fastening portion assembled in the insulator, a contacting portion extending from the fastening portion, and a tail portion extending from the fastening portion opposite to the contacting portion. The contacts include grounding contacts. The shielding shell provides a front mating face. The grounding member connects with the grounding contacts and extends in different plane compared to the grounding contacts. The grounding member defines a front contact tab and the grounding contact defines a front edge end. The front contact tab is closer to the front mating face of the shielding shell than the front edge ends of the grounding contacts.

A connector includes inner conductors and an outer conductor. The outer conductor includes four plate portions surrounding outer peripheral surfaces of the inner conductors, a rear plate portion for closing a rear surface of the outer conductor and an opening provided behind the bottom plate portion and in front of the rear plate portion. The inner conductor includes a board connecting portion projecting outwardly of the outer conductor through the opening. The outer conductor includes a common base end portion connected to a rear end of the bottom plate portion via a bent portion and projecting toward the same side as the board connecting portion, and a plurality of branched pieces projecting from a projecting end of the common base end portion while being arranged in a width direction of the common base end portion.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR AND ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY

An electrical connector used for mating a mating connector includes an insulation body having a base portion and a tongue extending from the base portion, terminals fixedly disposed in the base portion and grouped into an upper row and a lower row, and a middle shielding sheet embedded in the tongue and located between the upper and lower rows. The tongue has upper and lower surfaces arranged opposite to each other, and a front surface connected to the upper and lower surfaces. The upper and lower rows of terminals are exposed on the upper and lower, respectively. The middle shielding sheet has a front end surface extending out of the front surface, a slot formed on the front end surface, and a first projection portion extending into the slot, overlapping a central line of the middle shielding sheet along a longitudinal direction, and located behind the front surface.

ELECTRONIC DEVICE

Disclosed herein is an electronic device including: a connector configured to connect to another electronic device via a wired communication link; and a reference member whose potential is maintained at a constant level, wherein the connector includes a housing which houses connection terminals therein, and an electrically conductive protrusion joined to at least a distal end portion of the housing, the electrically conductive protrusion including at least a portion which is elastic, and electrically connected to the reference member.

High voltage vertical disk ferrule, and method for assembling thereof
11670892 · 2023-06-06 · ·

A high voltage vertical disk ferrule, and method for assembling thereof, the ferrule being stamped and having a vertical disk-like structure, which is not necessarily round or does not necessarily have any roundness. The high voltage vertical disk ferrule has an opening residing and traveling over the wire core and/or a wire braided shield, to which an end portion of the wire braided shield is affixed to the ferrule, or between two ferrules, such that a portion of the wire braided shield is flared and substantially perpendicular to the direction along which the wire core extends. The high voltage vertical disk slides over the core insulation, and towards the outer insulation when the wire is pushed. The wire braided shield develops a natural spring force against the ferrule, and causes it to be accordioned, pleated, or folded against itself, and therefore pushes the vertical disk ferrule forward.

CABLE TRAY ASSEMBLY

A cable tray assembly includes a first shell that defines a hollow interior and a second shell that defines a hollow interior, wherein one of the shells is partially inserted into the other shell so that the two hollow interiors are in communication. The shells each include a face that is opposite the face on the other shell and the faces support a plurality of connectors. An adjustment system helps control the distance between the two faces so that the cable tray can connect two row of connectors that are a distance apart where the distance is variable.
