THERMAL MITIGATION FOR USB POWER DELIVERY

Thermal mitigation features may be included in a Universal Serial Bus (USB) cable assembly or in the USB receptacle portion of a device. In one aspect, one or both ends of a USB cable jacket may have greater thermal conductivity than the portion between them. The portion having the greater thermal conductivity may dissipate excess heat from the cable into the environment. In another aspect, a USB cable connector or the USB receptacle portion of a device may include a thermoelectric heat pump. The thermoelectric heat pump may move excess heat from the cable assembly or receptacle into a portion of the cable assembly or device that dissipates the heat into the environment.

METHOD FOR AUTOMATICALLY ESTABLISHING A PLUG-IN CONNECTION IN ORDER TO CHARGE ELECTRIC VEHICLES

In a method for automatically establishing a plug-in connection for charging electric vehicles, first the relative position between a free plug-in connector on a positioning head that can be moved in at least two spatial directions, and a permanently installed plug-in connector is determined by a position sensor. Then the free plug-in connector approaches the permanently installed plug-in connector until there is mechanical contact between interacting guide surfaces in an insertion position, and the free plug-in connector is moved into a plug-in position. The distance along a common plug-in axis between the guide surfaces decreases continuously during the plug-in process. The transverse forces occurring at the guide surfaces relative to the plug-in direction are detected by transverse-force sensors and the positioning head is moved transversely and/or about a transverse pivot axis, reducing these transverse forces.

Examples provide an electrical safety plug including a nonconductive plug body. A set of pins conform to a set of pin connector slots in an electrical outlet. A tether is threaded through a tether connection aperture in an anchor couple. A first inter-locking device on the anchor couple removably attaches to a second inter-locking device on a return couple having an attachment member. The first interlocking device disengages from the second interlocking device to separate the anchor couple from the return couple during use. The anchor couple attaches to a part of a case during use create tension in the tether. The tension pulls an electrical harness in a direction of an attachment point of the tether. The nonconductive plug body covers the set of pin connection slots and the tether pulls the electrical harness away from a base member.

Charging Socket

The present invention discloses a charging socket. The charging socket has a housing; a charging terminal installed in the housing; an electric adapter installed in the housing; and a temperature sensor for detecting the temperature of the charging terminal. The electric adapter has a body and a connection terminal provided in the body, and the connection terminal has an input end and an output end. The temperature sensor has a flexible lead, which is electrically connected to the input end of the connection terminal, so as to transmit the sensing signal of the temperature sensor to the output end of the connection terminal. In the present invention, the flexible lead of the temperature sensor is electrically connected to the connection terminal of the electric adapter in the charging socket without passing through the rear cover of the charging socket. Therefore, the installation of the temperature sensor and the structure of the charging socket are simplified, the assembly efficiency is improved, and the production cost is reduced.

ELECTRICAL PLUG
20220360026 · 2022-11-10 ·

The present disclosure provides an electrical plug including a first temperature detection element and a second temperature detection element. When the processor determines that the temperature of the contact pins is greater than or equal to a temperature threshold according to a first detection signal outputted by the first temperature detection element and a second detection signal outputted by the second temperature detection element, the processor disables the electrical plug to transmit the input power to a load. When one of the temperature detection elements fails, the electrical plug determines whether the temperature of the electrical plug is greater than or equal to the temperature threshold according to the other one of the temperature detection elements. The electrical plug meets the redundant design required for functional safety to avoid unexpected hazards caused by the failure of a single temperature detection element. Therefore, the stability of the electrical plug is enhanced.
