20220311197 · 2022-09-29 ·

An electrical meter quick connect device has a housing with open faces. A first face is configured with connectors to mate to a electrical service panel in a meter connection manner, and a second face is configured with connectors to mate to a meter in an electrical service panel connection manner. First and second set of lines are within the housing, connected from the first face to the second face. A breaker switch is on the housing and coupled to at least one of the first and second set of lines. A third set of lines is connected to the breaker switch and exits a side of the housing, the third set including a ground line. An electrical vehicle charging line is coupled to the third set of lines. The device can be inserted between a meter and electrical service panel to provide an electric vehicle power connection.

Leakage protection socket with reverse connection protection

The present disclosure provides an improved leakage protection socket with reverse connection protection function. The electromagnetic tripping mechanism comprises a trip coil, an iron core and a permanent magnet that fit with a return spring, the iron core has, in its front end, a boss to pull the lock for horizontal movement, the movable input contacts are clamped by a rib slot of an upper tripper that can moves upward and downward along with the reset button. There is also provided a reverse connection trip device, which has a slope that coordinates with the boss of the iron core, upon reverse connection, the trip coil generates a magnetic field in the same orientation with the permanent magnet.

Breaker Plug, Network Systems and Methods
20220051864 · 2022-02-17 ·

A device with “plug-in” receptacle that mounts in a breaker panel. The plug receptacle receives a power cord inserted by the operator. The device includes a multifunction circuit interrupt that offers overload, thermal, and ground fault (GFCI) protection for the operator in hazardous environments such as garages, shops and spider boxes at construction sites. The devices may include a networkable node or port and onboard comm circuitry that is compatible with a wired or wireless TOT network. In another embodiment, a dummy breaker body includes a plug receptacle with a GFCI interrupt circuit but no direct electrical connection to the hot bus bar, and is wired in series with a conventional circuit breaker module in a breaker panel. Using solid state electronics, the GFCI panel-mounted devices may be configured to perform an automatic fault test prior to each use. Network systems using smart breaker devices are described.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS USING ELECTRICAL RECEPTACLES FOR INTEGRATED POWER CONTROL, COMMUNICATION AND MONITORING

An electrical receptacle contains contacts, at least one contact for electrical connection to a hot power line and at least one contact for a neutral power line. A controlled switch, such as a TRIAC, is connected in series relationship between the contact and the hot power line. One or more sensors are provided which detect signals of the hot power line and/or the neutral power line. The processor provides activation or deactivation control to the controlled switch in response to the detected signals that are indicative of conditions relative to the first and second contacts.

Rotary switch with improved simmer performance

A cooking appliance has a cooktop including a plurality of separately controlled cooking areas. A first heating element and a second heating element are positioned below one of the separately controlled cooking areas. A control switch is electrically coupled to the first heating element and the second heating element and is operable to selectively energize the first heating element with single-phase AC power and selectively energize the second heating element with two-phase AC power.

Power cord

A power cord includes a plug and a load connection portion connected to a load. The plug contains a plurality of plug pins which are respectively inserted in plug pin insertion holes of a power socket and connected to the power socket and a plurality of PTC thermistors, at least one of which is provided for each of the plug pins to detect a temperature of the corresponding plug pin. The PTC thermistors form one series circuit, and the power cord includes a shut-off device which turns off power supply to the load connection portion from the plug pins when a resistance value of the series circuit is equal to or higher than a predetermined value.

A varistor (50) comprising: a feed-through conductor (52) and a varistor disc (72) interposed between, and electrically connected to, conductor layers disposed on opposite surfaces of the varistor disc (72), the conductor layers being electrically isolated from one another; wherein the varistor disc (72) comprises a through aperture (60) through which the feed-through conductor extends; a first one of the conductor layers is electrically connected to the feed-through conductor; a second one of the conductor layers is, in normal use, permanently electrically connected to ground the varistor (50). This configuration enables one side of the disc (72) to be connected to the feed-through terminal, and the other side of the disc (72) to be connected to a ground plane, such as an earthed bulkhead of a wall or cabinet, via a metal plate forming part of the varistor (50) housing.
