CHARGING INLET ASSEMBLY HAVING AN HMI ASSEMBLY

A charging inlet assembly includes a housing extending between a front and a rear. The housing has a DC section includes DC terminal channels configured to receive DC terminals. The housing has an AC section including AC terminal channels configured to receive AC terminals. The DC section configured for mating with a DC charging connector at the front. The AC section configured for mating with an AC charging connector at the front. The housing includes an indicator opening. The charging inlet assembly includes a human machine interface (HMI) assembly coupled to the rear of the housing. The HMI assembly includes a charging indicator aligned with the indicator opening. The charging indicator is visible from the front of the housing to indicate a charging status of the charging inlet assembly.

ELECTRICAL PLUG WITH REPLACEABLE SURGE PROTECTOR

An electrical plug provides protection against electrical surges with a replaceable surge protector cartridge that is readily removable and replaceable along an exterior of the plug. Surge protector circuitry in the cartridge can absorb an electrical surge received at the plug from an electrical mains source, and the electrical plug can maintain electrical continuity from plug prongs to an electrical cord both before and after the surge protector has absorbed an electrical surge.

Tamper-resistant nightlight

A tamper resistant nightlight for placement in an electrical receptacle, the nightlight includes a body that has a base with an LED circuit and plug blades extending from the body. A housing includes a locking element configured to restrict a child from removing the nightlight from the electrical receptacle through a flange that extends away from the body to be positioned behind a rear surface of an electrical wall plate associated with the electrical receptacle to prevent the tamper resistant nightlight from being removed from the electrical receptacle while the electrical wall plate is coupled to the electrical receptacle.

Electrical safety plug

Examples provide an electrical safety plug including a nonconductive plug body. A set of pins conform to a set of pin connector slots in an electrical outlet. A tether is threaded through a tether connection aperture in an anchor couple. A first inter-locking device on the anchor couple removably attaches to a second inter-locking device on a return couple having an attachment member. The first interlocking device disengages from the second interlocking device to separate the anchor couple from the return couple during use. The anchor couple attaches to a part of a case during use create tension in the tether. The tension pulls an electrical harness in a direction of an attachment point of the tether. The nonconductive plug body covers the set of pin connection slots and the tether pulls the electrical harness away from a base member.

SURFACE MOUNT ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR

A surface mount electrical connector and methods of making and using a surface mount electrical connector. The connector includes a housing and a contact subassembly received in the housing. The contact subassembly includes interface contacts, board termination contacts, and an internal circuit board. The interface contacts and the board termination contacts are mounted to the internal circuit board to electrically connect the interface contacts and the board termination contacts through the internal circuit board. Each of surface mount tail ends of the board termination contacts has a bent portion that defines a mounting surface configured to be surface mounted to a mounting face of a main circuit board, to establish an electrical connection between the board termination contacts and the main circuit board.

PREMISES POWER USAGE MONITORING SYSTEM

A control system (300) allows recognized standard premise electrical outlets, for example NEMA, CEE and BS, among others to be remotely monitored and/or controlled, for example, to intelligently execute blackouts or brownouts or to otherwise remotely control electrical devices. The system (300) includes a number of smart receptacles (302) that communicate with a local controller (304), e.g., via power lines using the TCP/IP protocol. The local controller (304), in turn, communicates with a remote controller (308) via the internet.

Indicator for AC power adapter

Systems and components are provided for charging an Information Handling System (IHS). Systems include an AC adapter configured to report attributes of the adapter. The adapter includes a DC cord that supports a data channel. The DC plug includes a circuit for operating an indicator light based on an control signal. The system includes a power port controller that receives the reported adapter attributes, determines a charging state of the IHS; generates the control signal based on the determined charging state; and transmits the control signal to the indictor light circuit via the data channel. The indicator control signal may be used to operate indicator lights on both ends of a reversible DC cord. The indicator control signal may specify a color or brightness of the indicator and may indicate a charging state of the IHS.

LIGHT PIPE APPARATUS AND ASSOCIATED ELECTRONIC DEVICE

An electronic device and a light pipe apparatus advantageously are formed of a relatively small number of components that are configured to provide various types of light at the exterior of the electronic device while detecting ambient light at the exterior of electronic device, while also providing weather seals that protect the interior of electronic device without requiring the use of additional components to provide such seals.

Electrical outlet cover with integrated lighting with connectivity

A lighting device and system having a faceplate and a backplate. The faceplate or the backplate may have an arm or a set of arms having electrical conductors to connect or couple to the electrical contact points of an outlet, plug, or switch. The operational modes may be in an emergency lighting mode and a nightlight mode. The voltage source can be connected to a light source or sensor through the control circuit or the switch, and the light source may be activated based on the output of the sensor. A controller is connected to the sensor can send or receive wireless signals through a wireless module.
