The side surface includes a groove surrounding the connector opening, the connector includes a ring-shaped rib fitted into the groove, the connector has an upper surface and a lower surface that are inclined as viewed along a normal direction of the side surface, and a lower end of the lower surface includes a step protruding downward, the side surface includes a drain hole at a position below the step, and the drain hole communicates inside of the groove and underside of the groove.

Holding a data and or power cable in the pluggable cable channel allows different cables to be used in the same channel-way by changing the plug, thus assisting in the preservation of the enclosure investment and use for different applications. Some embodiments include a cavity to hold the end of the cable, a keyway to pass a length of the cable into the body conduit, and a routing channel in the body to exit the cable to a specific location in relationship to the plug, a set screw or clamp to secure the cable to a location in the plug body, and a body flange to attach the plug to the encasement. The flange may be angled to mate flush with perpendicular and non-perpendicular to the channel-way.

The busbar (40A, 40B) is embedded in the separation wall (81) of the housing (80) and the one and the other end parts are exposed from the separation wall (81).

The insulation sleeve covers the junction of the electrical connector and each of the cables, and the coupling portion protrudes out of the insulation sleeve. The latch member is disposed corresponding to one side of the electrical connector. The fastener is disposed corresponding to the other side of the electrical connector.

A sealing member may be used to prevent passage of foreign matter, such as liquid, gas or dust particles into the enclosure and into the mating region between the adapter and a mating plug connector. The sealing member may comprise a base and a sidewall configured to wrap around an outer border of the adapter. The sealing member may be configured to form a first sealing interface with the panel, and a second sealing interface with the plug connector. The first and second sealing interfaces may be orthogonal to each other. The sealing member may be made of an elastic material.

The third component can be ultrasonically welded to the first component and separately ultrasonically welded to the second component. In some cases, multiple third components can be utilized to cover a seam between the first and second components.

Communication system having connector assembly

A connector assembly includes a connector module having a connector body with side edges and end edges. The connector body has contact channels holding contacts. The connector assembly includes a mounting frame having side walls and an end wall opposite a window between the side walls. The window is open to and provides access to a passage that receives the connector module. The mounting frame includes a connector module support structure for supporting the connector module in the passage that defines a confined space oversized relative to the connector body of the connector module to allow a limited amount of floating movement in the confined space in a lateral direction that is perpendicular to the mating direction.
