The electrical circuit is located between the front surface and the rear surface. The electrical feature is exposed on the wall plate and is configured to receive power from the at least two electrical plug prongs through the electrical circuit. The wall plate may have a profile with a first thickness and a second thickness. The second thickness may be less than three times the first thickness.

The inner plug connector part can be fixed in the housing of the electronics unit independently of the housing part. Securing means connect the plug connector bodies to one another so that the housing part is fixed between the plug connector bodies.

Two concentrically arranged housing parts (5, 6) are connected to one another via a base (8) on the end opposite the at least one insertion opening (2). Between the housing parts (5, 6), an annular intermediate space (7) is formed as an annular receiving opening for the plug extension of a complementary plug connector. A receiving space (9) for the contact carrier (3) is provided inside the internal housing part (6).

An add-on housing for a plug-in connection is provided and includes a frame-like basic form, wherein fastening devices for fastening the add-on housing to a wall aperture are integrally formed within the frame-like basic form, wherein the add-on housing has at least one clamping element which can be captively clamped within the frame-like basic form, and wherein a holding frame or a contact insert can be fixed to the at least one clamping element. A method for fastening an add-on housing to a wall aperture is also provided, wherein: a frame-like basic form is fixed to the wall aperture by internal fastening devices; then, at least one clamping element, but preferably two clamping elements, is/are fixed within the frame-like basic form without tools; and a holding frame which is fitted with plug-in connector modules or a contact insert is then mounted onto the clamping elements and fixed thereto.

The coupler housing holds the coupler contact assembly with the front mating beams in the front receptacle for mating with the front module circuit board and the rear mating beams in the rear receptacle for mating with the rear module circuit board.
