High frequency electrical connector

An electrical connector that has a conductive shell supporting at least one signal contact therein and that has a front end for mating with a mating connector and a back end opposite the front end for electrically connecting to a coaxial cable. A ground connection is located inside of the conductive shell. A coupling member is rotatably coupled to the conductive shell and has an engagement feature for mechanically engaging a support panel associated with the mating connector. A sealing member is disposed on the conductive shell that is configured to provide an environmental seal between the conductive shell and the support panel when the conductive shell is mated with the mating connector.

Coupling mechanism and connector with the same

A connector that has a conductive shell that supports at least one signal contact therein. The shell comprises a front end for mating with a mating connector and a back end opposite the front end for connecting to a power or data transmission cable. A coupling member is configured to engage the conductive shell and engage a corresponding component associated with the mating connector to mechanically couple the connector and the mating connector together. A plurality of ground connections are provided at the front end of the conductive shell and the front section of the coupling member for grounding.

An electrical connector includes a contact pin to be connected to a core wire of a coaxial cable, an insulating housing for holding the contact pin therein, a cylindrical outer contact covering the housing and a crimping member for attaching the outer contact to the coaxial cable. A base end portion of the outer contact is located between an inner insulator layer and an outer conductor layer of the coaxial cable. The outer contact is attached to the coaxial cable by crimping the crimping member onto the outer conductor layer of the coaxial cable located on the base end portion of the outer contact.

Corrosion Protected Communication Connections And Related Methods

Corrosion within a flangeless connector, or at an associated connection of a device or medium (e.g., cable), used in a wireless base station may be reduced by incorporating a seating member, e.g., an O-ring, between the connector and a connector port. Conductive plating selectively applied within the connector port may provide a low-resistance ground connection between the port and the connector, while a non-conductive coating selectively applied to a surface against which the seating member is seated may form a weather-tight seal. The connection between the connector and the connector port is thereby protected from moisture, while exposed surfaces of the connector port re protected by the non-conductive coating.
