Each brush portion end surface faces the outward direction, the bus bar has an engagement portion with an end facing the inward direction, and the end of the engagement portion is further in the outward direction than the end surface portion. The brush has an end facing the first direction, the bus bar has an end facing a second direction, and the end of the bus bar is further in the second direction than the end of the brush facing the first direction. Each protrusion end faces the second direction, and the end of the bus bar facing the first direction is further in the second direction than the end of the protrusion facing the second direction.

A brush holding assembly for an excited-rotor electric machine includes a casing including two ducts flanking each other and developing along a direction between first and second ends, at least two brushes each housed capable of sliding in a respective duct and projecting outwardly to the second end and a connecting member arranged to connect with an electric current generation unit associated with said casing at the first end. The assembly also includes presser members associated with the brushes and configured to push the brushes towards the second end to keep them pressed on the respective tracks of a rotating manifold of a rotor and at least two conductive elements developing along the direction, each operatively interposed between a respective brush and the connecting member and configured to deform along the direction in order to follow the movement of the brush imparted by the presser members.

A part of the elastic member is disposed inside of the columnar brush.

A brush holding device may include a brush holder; a plug; a first plug contact element and a second plug contact element; and a first circuit board. The first plug contact element and the second plug contact element may be connected with a brush through a choke coil. The first circuit board may include electric-magnetic interference suppression components connected to a first and second contact area of the first circuit board. The electric-magnetic interference suppression components may be electrically connected to the first contact area and the second contact area, and the electric-magnetic interference suppression components may be directly or indirectly grounded.
