Brush holder assembly with quick disconnect terminal
RE047563 · 2019-08-06 · ·

A brush holder assembly including a quick disconnect assembly for quickly disconnecting a brush and electrical leads from a remaining component of the brush holder assembly to facilitate brush removal and replacement. The quick disconnect assembly includes a receptacle having a cavity for removably receiving and an end of the electrical lead, such as the nugget, and a resilient clip. When positioned in the cavity of the receptacle, the resilient clip urges a surface of the nugget into direct contact with a surface of the receptacle partially defining the cavity, completing an electrical current pathway from the brush through the electrical lead to the nugget, and from the surface of the nugget to the surface of the receptacle.

Motor apparatus

Each cross-section of the connector member assembling hole and the assembly main body 51a in a direction intersecting the insertion direction has a point-symmetrical circular shape with the insertion shaft center FC as the center. A pair of connector-side female terminals 57a, opposed to each other with the insertion shaft center FC as the center, is provided at the distal end side in the insertion direction of the assembly main body 51a, and a pair of brush-side male terminals, opposed to each other with the insertion shaft center FC as the center and to which the connector-side female terminals 57a are connected, is provided to a portion of the brush holder opposite to the connector member assembling hole. Therefore, it is possible to insert the connector member 50 into the gear case in the state of being rotated by 180 degrees about the insertion shaft center FC, and it is possible to cope with arrangement needs which are different by 180 degrees in a connection direction of the external connector, using one connector member 50.

A high-voltage accumulator module having a multiplicity of battery cells arranged in a honeycombed parallel- and series connection assembly (for example, honeycomb). The gaps between the battery cells are filled with a thermally and electrically conductive potting compound. The battery cells are electrically insulated with respect to the potting compound. The potting compound is connected to an energy source via electrically conductive fixing elements that protrude into the potting compound and via two pole connections in such a way that a current flow through the potting compound which is as homogenous as possible is achieved. The two pole connections, for example, in the form of metal plates, may be fastened to the potting compound over a large surface area and in close electrical contact therewith by the fixing elements. The fixing elements may protrude as deep as possible into the potting compound in the form of strips or pins and may contain barbs.

Starter-generator brush

A brush for a starter-generator includes a first carbon block, a second carbon block, a terminal lug, and a plurality of brush leads. Each carbon block has an outboard edge and an inboard edge. Each carbon block includes a front carbon wafer and a rear carbon wafer. Front brush leads connect the terminal lug with the front carbon wafers of the respective carbon blocks adjacent the inboard edges of the respective carbon blocks. Rear brush leads connect the terminal lug with the rear carbon wafers of the respective carbon blocks adjacent the outboard edge of the respective carbon blocks.
