Electrical connector for a wind turbine
An electrical connector for providing power between a nacelle and a hub of a wind turbine. The electrical connector includes a first electrical connector part for connection to one of the nacelle or the hub, and a second electrical connector part for connection to the other of the nacelle or the hub. The electrical connector further includes an actuator for moving the first or second electrical connector parts in a first direction between an extended position in which the first and second connector parts are in contact and form an electrical connection between the nacelle and the hub, and a retracted position in which the first and second electrical connector parts are spaced apart and do not form an electrical connection. The first and/or second electrical connector parts include one or more magnets arranged to secure the first and second parts together when the respective parts are in contact.
System and method for monitoring the status of one or more components of an electrical machine
Example brush holder assemblies of an electric machine are disclosed. An example brush holder assembly of an electric machine includes a carbon brush including an upper surface and a lower surface opposite the upper surface. The brush holder assembly also includes one or more lead wires extending out of the carbon brush at an insertion point on the upper surface and a first cavity extending into the carbon brush from the upper surface at a location spaced away from the insertion point of the one or more lead wires and unobstructed by the one or more lead wires.
BRUSH ARRANGEMENT
Provided is a brush arrangement of a wind turbine lightning protection system, realized to provide a current path from a hub to a canopy of the wind turbine, which brush arrangement includes a brush holder arranged to hold a brush in electrical contact with a contact surface at the exterior of the canopy, which contact surface is electrically connected to the hub; a bracket arranged to electrically connect the brush with a mounting plate; characterized by an access opening in the front wall of the canopy, which access opening is dimensioned to accommodate the bracket and brush holder; and a mounting arrangement for securing the mounting plate to the canopy front wall over the access opening, from within the canopy interior. A wind turbine including a lightning protection system with at least one such brush arrangement is also provided.
GROUNDING BRUSH ASSEMBLY
A grounding brush assembly includes a brush having a plurality of conductive fibers and a support having a mounting portion housing conductive fibers and first and second lateral lips extending from the mounting portion and axially gripping the conductive fibers. The assembly includes a mounting plate connected with the support and provided with at least one radial portion extending radially outwardly from the mounting portion of the support. The mounting plate has an axial portion extending axially from the radial portion, at least partly radially surrounding the mounting portion of the support and being spaced radially apart radially from the mounting portion. Further, a retaining portion extends radially inwardly from the axial portion.
FIBER GROUNDING BRUSH, ASSEMBLY INCLUDING THE FIBER GROUNDING BRUSH, AND METHOD OF INSTALLING THE ASSEMBLY
A grounding brush includes a wire extending along an arc, a plurality of conductive fibers each bent into a U-shape around the wire, and at least one support including a channel crimped about the fibers and wire to secure them to the channel. An assembly includes a mounting plate having an opening configured to surround a rotatable motor shaft having an axis of rotation, a plurality of tabs disposed in a circle around the periphery, each of the tabs extending axially from the first side of the mounting plate and radially toward the axis of rotation to define with an adjacent portion of the first side of the mounting plate a U-shaped bracket and a grounding brush mounted in the plurality of U-shaped brackets with the conductive fibers extending radially inward or outward. Also a method of mounting and adjusting the grounding brush in the assembly.
Multi-directional high current slip ring
The present invention is an electrical slip ring device comprised of a stator, a rotor and an independent rotationally free brush ring. The brush ring may include a multitude of slipping fingers, chevrons or other current carrying structures that extend between the rotor and the stator. These current carrying structures have a directional bias or lay. The rotational freedom of the brush ring enables bi-directional movement of the rotor with reduced torque and wear at the sliding interfaces because sliding always occurs in the direction of the lay.
Brush holder assembly for an electric motor
The present invention relates to a brush holder assembly (100) for an electric motor (1) of a motor vehicle equipment item comprising: a plate (9) intended to hold at least one connection brush (7) against a collector (6) arranged on a rotor (6) of en electric motor (1), the plate (9) extending in a plane perpendicular to said rotor (6), at least one induction coil (19) intended to be connected to said connection brush (7), the brush holder assembly (100) also comprising at least one retaining element (27) of the at least one induction coil (18) configured to hold the induction coil (19) in a plane parallel to the plate (9).
Excitation device
Disclosed is an excitation device which includes a brush holder base. The brush holder base is provided with a plug. The plug is provided with a brush holder shaft. The front end of the brush holder shaft is provided with a brush box. A horizontal taper dovetail groove is formed in the brush holder base. A horizontal taper dovetail lug boss is disposed on the plug. The dovetail groove is matched with the dovetail lug boss. The present invention solves the problem of potential safety hazard in locking, and ensures safe and smooth operation of a unit.
GROUNDING BRUSH ASSEMBLY
A device may include a first end, a second end, and a coupler configured to extend through an aperture from a first side to a second side of a motor cover. The coupler includes a head portion, a conduit portion extending from the head portion towards the second end, and a first bore axially extending through the coupler. The device may include a brush holder extending through the first bore. The brush holder includes a cylindrical body, a socket at the first end, and a receptacle at the second end. The device may include a first lock nut including a first threaded bore axially extending through the nut. The device may be configured to enable a grounding brush to contact a motor shaft to provide a current discharge path to ground to reduce an erosion of the motor components including the motor shaft and rolling bearing elements.
Electric Motor Fan Cover, End Bell Interface, and Radially Mounted Brush Holder
