A pressing tool has two grips movable relative to one another, a crimping unit with a crimping drum arranged in a tool head of the pressing tool and having at least one crimping die and a depository for storing a strip of ferrules connected to one another as a belt. The tool also includes a transport device movable in a prestressed manner toward the crimping drum to transport the ferrule strip from the depository toward the crimping drum. The transport device has a transport plate and a transport lever pivotably arranged and sprung relative to the transport plate. The transport lever has an attachment close to the crimping drum that can be pressed in between adjacent ferrules there arranged. The attachment is arranged between the transport device and a support surface of a head cap. There is a holding-down device which is spring supported on the support surface and which presses the transport plate against the transport lever.

A dieless crimp head is provided that includes a frame, an indentor, and a first positioning device. The frame has a first frame shell and a second frame shell, which define a frame opening. The indentor converges on a crimp center within the frame opening. The first positioning device has a connector slot defining a connector receipt area. The first positioning device is removably secured in the frame opening of the first frame shell at a use position in which the connector receipt area and the crimp center are aligned with, but offset along, a longitudinal axis of the crimp head.

The crimping tool also includes a working head coupled to the housing opposite the first and second handles. The working head includes an upper wall, an end wall, and a gap defined between the upper wall and the end wall. The crimping tool also includes a punch assembly slidable along the working head toward the end wall in response to movement of the second handle toward the first handle. The punch assembly is visible through the gap as the punch assembly slides toward the end wall.

The direction of motion of the driving element defines a first axis. The cassette comprises: a cassette body and a machining block. The cassette body is detachably disposed in an opening of the head of the tool body and has a machining opening therein. The machining block is slidably disposed in the cassette body along the first axis and has an engagement element detachably engaged with the driving element of the tool body. Through the engagement element, the driving element drives the machining block to slide along the first axis to move toward or away from the machining opening.
