The invention relates to pressing or crimping pliers (1). According to the invention a spring device (35) (which is e.g. embodied as U-shaped leaf spring (36)) is used in the crimping pliers. In an equilibrium position (48) the leaf spring (36) is trapped between stops (49, 50). If the pressing or crimping pliers (1) are moved from the equilibrium position (48) in closing direction the leaf spring (36) is biased by a follower (54) such that the leaf spring (36) generates an opening force. In reversed direction the opening movement of the pressing or crimping pliers (1) from the equilibrium position (48) leads to a bias of the leaf spring (36) by a follower (55) such that the leaf spring is able to generate a closing force. According to the invention it is possible to provide that the pressing or crimping pliers (1) automatically and elastically open when reaching the closed position. Furthermore, a workpiece inserted into the pressing or crimping pliers (1) is clamped by a closing force and secured in this way.

CRIMPING TOOL

A crimping tool includes a base, a press handle, a slide module, a link and a fixed fix shaft. The base has two first side walls and to sliding space is defined therebetween. One end of the press handle is pivoted at an end of the base. The slide module is slidably accommodated in the sliding space and has a guiding groove. Two ends of the link are pivoted at the press handle and the slide module separately. The fix shaft is disposed across the two first side walls and inserted in the guiding groove. When the press handle drives the slide module sliding in the sliding space through the link, the guiding groove of the slide module will be guided and restricted by the fix shaft. Therefore, the guiding grooves will not be damaged and get dirt.

Terminating apparatus for terminating wires to a communication module

A terminating apparatus for terminating a plurality of wires of a cable to a plurality of connection terminations of a communication module, the communication module comprises at least one upright walls each provided with at least one receiving slots for receiving the connection terminations each of which is electrically connected with one wire. The terminating apparatus comprises: at least one terminating portion into which the upright walls of the communication module are able to be inserted, each terminating portion separately holding the plurality of wires of the cable; and at least one cutting apparatus mounted in the terminating portions outside the receiving slot of the communication module and constructed to cut off parts of the wires which extend out the receiving slots after the wires are terminated to the connection terminations of the communication module. The wires may be easily and quickly terminated to the communication module. External protection layers of the wires are pierced and conductors of the wires are electrically connected to the communication module during terminating the wires. It does not need to peel off the external protection layers of the wires before terminating the wires.

A universal compact compression tool includes a vise assembly having different sets of jaws. The different sets of jaws are for holding different connectors during installation on a cable. A shaft on the tool is mounted to move between advanced and retracted positions with respect to the vise assembly. On the shaft, a plunger is mounted to move between first and second positions. In the first position of the plunger, the plunger is advanced on the shaft. In the second position of the plunger, the plunger is retracted on the shaft. The user sets the plunger in either the first or the second position depending on the type of connector to be installed on the cable. Once selected, and with the connector in the vise assembly, the user closes a lever of the tool to move the shaft to the advanced position, thereby applying the connector to the cable.
