Terminal connection method for litz wire
A terminal connecting method including: removing a insulation film by a predetermined length from one end of a litz wire; inserting to a pressure fixing part a terminal part of the litz wire; compressing a first portion of the pressure fixing part with a first compression force to cause plastic deformation of an entirety of the pressure fixing part, and to temporarily fix the terminal part of the litz wire to the pressure fixing part; compressing a second portion of the pressure fixing part with a second compression force greater than the first compression force to locally cause plastic deformation of the pressure fixing part and the litz wire, the second portion being a part of the first portion; and pouring molten solder from a front end side of the pressure fixing part to firmly fix the litz wire to the terminal metal fitting.
Method for Installing a Pulling Head Assembly
A workstation and method for the installation of a pulling head assembly onto one or more conductors of a cabling system are provided. The workstation incorporates one or more of: a conductor clamp that holds the conductors of the cabling system in place during the installation of the pulling head assembly; a cutting guide having indicia marks that indicate the lengths to which to cut the conductors in order to achieve a staggered pattern of pulling eyes attached to the conductors in the pulling head assembly; a stripping tool that is used to remove a portion of the insulation from the terminal end of each conductor so that the end of the conductor may be inserted into the pulling eye; and a crimping tool that is used to crimp the pulling eyes onto the terminal ends of each of the conductors.
METHOD FOR JOINING TERMINAL AND ELECTRIC WIRE AND ELECTRIC WIRE CONNECTION TERMINAL
A method of the present invention includes: electrically joining an electric wire 5 and a terminal (1) by crimping the electric wire 5 held by a first crimp piece (6) under a stress condition where external force is applied; and mechanically joining the terminal (1) and the electric wire (5) by soldering the electric wire (5) held by a second crimp piece (7) onto the terminal (1) while heating the electric wire (5) under a stress-free condition where no external force is applied by applying an electric current to heating electrodes (10, 12). The terminal (1) that is made of a different material from the electric wire (5) is surface-treated in order to avoid electric corrosion with the electric wire (5).
Electrical connection to Litz wire
An electrical connector assembly includes a Litz wire having multiple wire strands. Each wire strand has a conductor and an insulator. The electrical connector assembly includes an electrical contact having a contact portion at a mating end and a Litz wire termination portion at a terminating end. The contact portion is configured to make an electrical connection with a mating contact. The Litz wire termination portion is crimped to an end of the Litz wire. The Litz wire termination portion is heated by an induction heating device after being crimped to the end of the Litz wire to heat the wire strands and melt away the insulators of the wire strands to electrically connect the conductors at the end of the Litz wire to make an electrical connection with the individual wire strands of the Litz wire.
