Manufacturing method of crimping terminal

A manufacturing method of a crimping terminal includes a terminal supply step of supplying the crimping terminal to a crimping position with a wire by a terminal supply device, the crimping terminal including a terminal connection portion, a wire connection portion to be crimped onto the wire, and a joint portion linking side walls of the terminal connection portion and the wire connection portion, a support step of supporting a bottom portion of the crimping terminal supplied to the crimping position by a first mold, a crimp step of deforming the wire connection portion while relatively moving toward the first mold, and crimping the wire connection portion onto the wire by a second mold, and a regulation step of regulating a width of the joint portion so as not to be wider than a width of the terminal connection portion, by sandwiching the joint portion from both sides in a width direction when the second mold crimps the wire connection portion by a regulation portion.

Method for crimping an electrical contact to a cable and tool for implementing said method

A method of attaching an electrical contact to a cable is presented herein. The electrical contact is crimped to the cable, at different heights, in such a way as to obtain a mechanical retention portion and an electrical conduction portion. The difference between the final crimping heights of the mechanical retention portion and the electrical conduction portion is between 0.5 and 0.6 mm. A tool for implementing this method is also described herein.

Set of interchangeable crimp units

The present invention relates to a set of interchangeable crimp units for a crimping machine. According to the invention each crimp unit comprises an integrated sensor for measuring a crimping force or a crimping displacement during the crimping process.

4-way indent tool

A 4-way indent tool includes a indenter actuator cam arm being movable between an unactuated position and an actuated position to actuate four indenters to crimp a terminal. The 4-way indent tool includes a drive assembly movable along the drive screw between a retracted position and an advanced position. The drive assembly has a drive nut on a drive screw and a coupler operably coupled between the drive nut and the indenter actuator cam arm. The coupler moves the indenter actuator cam arm. The coupler has a spring loaded coupling between the drive nut and the indenter actuator cam arm compressed as the coupler is moved between the retracted position and the advanced position.

Crimp tool having adjustable cam

The invention is related to a crimp tool having an adjustable cam for accomplishing precision machining of a connector with a cable. The adjustable cam is provided at one of the handles of the crimp tool and is configured to prevent a moving handle of the crimp tool from moving beyond the adjustable cam so as to allow a user to adjust the pivot range of the moving handle, which controls the extent of the movement of a machining block in a machining portion of the crimp tool.

Sensor arrangement, measuring device and measuring method

Measuring equipment for a crimp connection comprises a signal processing unit (150), a ranging sensor arrangement (100) based on using optical radiation, and a moving mechanism (102) that moves a formed crimp connection (104) and the ranging sensor arrangement (100) in relation to each other. The ranging sensor arrangement (100) measures the distance between the ranging sensor arrangement (100) and crimp connection (104) while the ranging sensor arrangement (100) and moving mechanism (102) are moved in relation to each other. The signal processing unit (150) generates surface profile data on the basis of the measured distances, uses the surface profile data of the crimp connection (104) to determine the quality of the crimp connection (104), and displays data related to the crimp connection (104).

Terminal assembly for use with conductors of different sizes and method of assembling

A terminal includes a terminal body and/or a first wing that may extend from the terminal body. The first wing that may have an end portion, a middle portion and/or a connecting portion. The inner surface of the end portion may be in contact with an inner surface of the middle portion. A terminal may include a second wing that may extend from the terminal body. An outer surface of the middle portion of the first wing may contact an outer surface of the middle portion of the second wing. A first wing and a second wing may be disposed on opposite sides of the terminal body. The second wing may include an end portion, a middle portion, and/or a connecting portion. A connecting portion of the first wing and a connecting portion of the second wing may both connect to the terminal body.

4-way indent tool

A 4-way indent tool includes a cover holding a motor and a drive screw operably coupled to the motor and an indenter holder holding four indenters positioned orthogonally around a terminal opening configured to receive a terminal. The 4-way indent tool includes a indenter actuator cam arm positioned adjacent the indenter holder to operably engage the indenters having cam surfaces engaging the corresponding indenters to actuate the indenters. The 4-way indent tool includes a drive nut threadably coupled to the drive screw being moved linearly on the drive screw between an unactuated position and an actuated position. The indenter actuator cam arm is coupled to the drive nut and moves with the drive nut between the unactuated position and the actuated position to actuate the indenters.
