CRIMPING TOOL EXCHANGE DEVICE AND METHOD FOR EXCHANGING A FIRST CRIMPING TOOL ARRANGED AT A PROCESS POSITION IN A CRIMPING PRESS WITH ANOTHER SECOND CRIMPING TOOL
A crimping tool exchange device for exchanging crimping tools in a process position in a cable crimp contact crimping press has at least two exchange spots that each retain a crimping tool. When the exchange spots are in a first exchange position, a first tool is displaced from the process position to a first exchange spot along a first direction of movement, the exchange spots are linearly moved from the first exchange position into a second exchange position wherein the first tool and a second tool located on a second exchange spot move in a second direction of movement that differs from the first direction of movement, and in the second exchange position the second tool is displaced from the second exchange spot into the process position in a third direction of movement that is opposite to the first direction of movement.
Aligning method for cable processing apparatus
A method aligns a crimping cassette crimping tool in a cable processing apparatus having a tensioning device for applying tension to a mounting part relative to a crimping device attachment surface. The crimping cassette includes the crimping tool having cooperating stationary and movable tool parts for crimping and a holding device that attaches to the mounting part fixed to the stationary tool part and has a position allowing a spatially-limited adjustment movement of the stationary tool part. The method includes releasing the tensioning device; inserting the stationary tool part into a tensioning device area; moving the moveable tool part towards the stationary tool part slightly before it touches the stationary tool part; moving the moveable tool part towards the stationary tool part until a pressing force between the tool parts is reached or exceeded and an alignment occurs between the tool parts; and applying tension with the tensioning device.
System for connecting wires of an electrical cable harness to an electrical connector
A system for connecting wires of an electrical cable harness to an electrical connector includes a base that defines a base plane and is configured to support a connector. The system also includes a guiding device having first and second moveable gripping portions. The first and second gripping portions cooperate to define one or more channels that extend perpendicularly to the base plane and are configured to receive one or more wire ends for insertion. An inner surface of the first gripping portion is parallel with a corresponding inner surface of the second gripping portion and an outer surface of the first gripping portion is nonparallel with a corresponding outer surface of the second gripping portion. The system further includes a robotic arm configured to move the guiding device relative to the base while the one or more channels remain perpendicular to the base plane.
Contact Element and Equipping Arrangement With Said Contact Element
A contact for an electrical plug connector comprises a plug portion and a contact spring. The plug portion has an opening receiving a pin contact in an insertion direction. The contact spring is connected by at least one spring arm base to the plug portion and extends from the at least one spring arm base toward the opening in a direction opposite the insertion direction. The contact spring exerts a contact force on the pin contact perpendicular to the insertion direction.
