COMPONENT FOR ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEM, AND CONTACT ASSEMBLY AND OPEN AIR ARCING ELIMINATION METHOD THEREFOR
A contact assembly for an electrical component includes: a bus member; and a switching assembly structured to move between first and second positions. The switching assembly includes: a stationary contact extending from the bus member, a movable contact engaging the stationary contact when the switching assembly is in the first position and disengaging the stationary contact when the switching assembly moves toward the second position, and a switching device coupled to the bus member. When the switching assembly is in the first position, the switching device and the stationary contact are electrically connected in parallel with the bus member and the movable contact. When the switching assembly moves from the first position toward the second position, the switching device disconnects power after the movable contact disengages the stationary contact in order that electrical disconnection between the bus member and the movable contact occurs within the switching device.
Vacuum break switch mass
An underarm gang operated vacuum break switch (underarm switch) has an electrically live portion under a mounting arm, which provides advantages over the standard vacuum break switch, which have the electrically live portion above the mounting arm. Because the non-electrified mounting arm is above the electrified portion, the underarm switch is safer for perching birds and other wildlife. The nature of the underarm switch also provides other benefits including a disconnect blade that when opened creates a visual gap to ensure electrical discontinuity along with a safety locking arm tied to deactivating the underarm switch. Adding to the safety measures is a visual indicator that shows an electrician when the switch is live and safe to open the disconnect blade. Other safety measures include a shock absorber assembly and inertia slowing mass protecting electrical contacts within the vacuum break switch from failing.
Electrical connector for a medium-power or high-power electrical distribution network
An electrical connector includes: a housing including a mechanical interface, the mechanical interface configured to mechanically connect the electrical connector to a bushing; a current path in the housing, the current path including: an electrical conductor; and a switching apparatus electrically connected to the electrical conductor, the switching apparatus associated with operating states, the operating states including at least a first state that closes the current path and a second state that opens the current path; a switch control apparatus in the housing, the switch control apparatus configured to control the operating state of the switching apparatus; and a power apparatus in the housing, the power apparatus configured to obtain electrical energy from the current path and provide electrical energy to the switch control apparatus.

Switchgear Tank
A switchgear tank includes one or more center body parts; a first end cap; and a second end cap; wherein the one or more center body parts are formed from one or more bent metal sheets; wherein the first end cap is connected to at least one center body part of the one or more center body parts at a first axial position; wherein the second end cap is connected to at least one center body part of the one or more center body parts at a second axial position; and wherein each of the one or more center body parts comprises at least partly cylindrical shape.

SubSea Circuit Breaker
A subsea circuit breaker includes a vacuum interrupter; a pushrod; an actuator; and a housing; wherein the vacuum interrupter is located within the housing; wherein the pushrod is located within the housing; wherein the actuator is located within the housing; wherein the actuator is configured to actuate the pushrod; wherein the pushrod is configured when actuated to move a moveable contact of the vacuum interrupter with respect to a fixed contact of the vacuum interrupter; and wherein the circuit breaker is configured to operate at a subsea water pressure or under higher pressure than atmospheric gas pressure condition in a switchgear.
Current interrupting module with a resettable current interruption device
A current interruption module includes: a resettable switching apparatus associated with operating states, the operating states including at least a first operating state that prevents current flow in the switching apparatus and a second operating state that allows current flow in the switching apparatus; a switch control configured to control the operating state of the switching apparatus; an electrical interface configured to electrically connect the switching apparatus to a load; and a connection interface configured to electrically connect the resettable switching apparatus to a current path of an separate and distinct electrical connector and to mechanically connect the current interruption module to the separate and distinct electrical connector.
VACUUM BOTTLE HOUSING MOLD
Aspects of the disclosure relates to tooling for molding a polymer housing for a vacuum bottle. The tooling comprises first and second mold halves, each defining one-half of a negative impression of the housing. The housing includes a cylindrical core with multiple spaced annular sheds extending outward, arranged as alternating large- and small-diameter sheds. The polymer housing encapsulates at least 70% of a rigid cylinder having two flanges separated by a narrower central body. Each mold cavity includes cylindrical end cavities with diameters larger than a central core cavity diameter, corresponding to the housing's core geometry. This arrangement enables accurate formation of the alternating shed structure, precise encapsulation of the rigid cylinder, and reliable dimensional control at the core and ends, facilitating robust vacuum bottle construction.
Vacuum circuit breaker
A vacuum circuit breaker includes a grounded tank in which an insulating gas is sealed, a vacuum valve, a movable-side electrode, a fixed-side electrode, a bellows fixed to the movable-side electrode allowed to pass therethrough, to expand and contract in the vacuum valve, a pressure valve regulating gas pressure between a first area enclosed by the bellows and a movable-side frame and a second area enclosed by the grounded tank outside the first area, a pressure release valve releasing the insulating gas from the first area to the outside of the grounded tank, and an anomaly determination unit determining leak of the insulating gas from the grounded tank, based on a gas pressure in the second area measured by a pressure sensor.
