Method to strip a portion of an insulated wire
09935433 · 2018-04-03 · ·

According to the method of stripping a portion of a wire of the invention, the insulated wire including the wire core are first flattened before the insulation is stripped away. The flattening eases the stripping as the insulation is partially cracked and dissociated of the wire core, and the stripping is more efficiently applied on a flat surface. A wire stripping machine and a transponder antenna with stripped portions are also claim as being part of the invention.

STRIPPING APPARATUS AND STRIPPING STATION

A stripping apparatus and a stripping station capable of reducing cycle time for steps of stripping an insulation coating from a conducting wire material are provided. A stripping apparatus configured to strip an insulation coating WL from a conducting wire material W, including the insulation coating WL and cross-section of which orthogonal to a longitudinal direction has a rectangular shape, the stripping apparatus includes: an upper mold 150 provided with a stripping blade configured to strip the insulation coating WL; a lower mold 110 configured to support the conducting wire material W from a lower side thereof; a pressing member 130 configured to prevent displacement of the conducting wire material W; and a rotation mechanism configured to rotate the conducting wire material W around a rotational axis C1 that is parallel to a axial center of the conducting wire material W.

Optical fiber scribing tool

A portable, hand tool for scribing optical fibers in a cleaving process. The scribing tool comprises a body within which the optical fiber is supported for rotation with respect to the body, about an axis within the body. The optical fiber is constrained by supports from movements along its axis. An actuator moves a scribing bit orthogonal relative to the fiber axis. The actuator may be a piezoelectric actuator, such as in a tube that bends under applied voltage. In one embodiment the scribing tool has a single scribing bit. In another embodiment, the scribing tool has multiple (N) scribing bits that can be applied against the optical fiber simultaneously.

Conductor monitor device and method
09880213 · 2018-01-30 · ·

An illustrative example conductor monitoring device includes a generator configured to radiate a field into a conductor. A detector is configured to detect at least some of the field propagated along the conductor. A processor is configured to determine when a change in the propagated field detected by the detector indicates contact between the conductor and a conductive blade of a wire processing machine. The example conductor monitoring device is capable of providing information regarding the condition of a conductor that has gone through a wire handling process that involves cutting the wire and stripping insulation from near the end of the cut wire, for example. The information regarding the condition of the wire is obtained without making contact with the wire and without interfering with or requiring any alteration of the wire handling process or machine.

WIRE STRIPPING MACHINE

The present disclosure relates to the technical field of wire processing and discloses a wire stripping machine, which includes a wire entry component, a wire feeding component and a wire stripping component. The wire entry component includes a first wire clamping part and a second wire clamping part with an adjustable spacing, so as to form an adjustable-sized wire entry space between the first wire clamping part and the second wire clamping part. The wire to be stripped can be inserted through the wire entry space. The wire feeding component can transport the wires inserted through the wire entry space in a preset direction; the wire stripping assembly includes a wire stripping knife, which can be lifted and lowered above the wire feeding component. The wire stripping knife can cut into the outer sheath of the wire being fed on the wire feed component. Since the size of the wire entry space is adjustable, wires of different diameters can be stripped, which effectively improves the versatility of this wire stripping machine. Moreover, wires of different diameters are all inserted through the same wire entry space, so there is no need to equip different wire entrances for wires of different diameters. The threading operation is simpler and is conducive to the miniaturization design of the wire stripping machine.

ELECTRICAL POWER CABLE PREPARATION SYSTEM

Techniques, systems and articles are described for preparing electrical cables for connections to a power grid. In one example, a system includes a cable preparation device configured to cut one or more layers of an electrical cable and a computing device configured to control the cable preparation device to cut the one or more layers of the electrical cable. The computing device may determine one or more target cutting distances and determine whether an actual cutting distance satisfies the target cutting distance. The computing device may detect defects in the electrical cable. The computing device may further determine whether the cable preparation device should be serviced.
