Conduit pull body and methods of on-the-job-site construction and installation
11381064 · 2022-07-05 ·

A conduit pull body with an elongated generally square cross-section cavity defined by two generally square ends and four generally rectangular lateral panels (front, back and two sides) in which the back and at least one of the front and two side panels are selectively removable to increase access to the cavity for pulling cabling therethrough. Where at least two of the removeable panels are adjacent, lateral access to the cavity (as represented by the longitudinal centerline) is not less than about 180 degrees, about 270 degrees where three removeable panels are adjacent. Where at least one of the front and two sides is apertured and interchangeable with a second one of the front and two sides, the pull body is convertible between Type LB, Type LL and Type LR pull bodies. On-the-job-site construction of different types of pull bodies is possible from a selection of component parts. Methods of improving cavity access and creating different pull body types are disclosed.

A wireless smart switch, comprising: an actuator, a circuit assembly, comprising at least a controller, a battery, and a transceiver, the controller being powered by the battery and being programmed to send one or more command signals via the transceiver, according to a user input from the actuator; a back-body, the back-body having a rear surface adapted to be mounted to a surface of a wall or to a wall box; and a ground wire, the ground wire being seated within a recess defined within the rear surface of back-body, the ground wire having a fixed end and a free end such that the free end can be drawn away from the back body and connected to a ground wire within a wall box.

Foldable and/or collapsible plastic/composite utility enclosure

A foldable extension enclosure for a utility enclosure, each having first, second, third, and fourth sides connected by hinges and each folding only in one direction by means of detents on the sides. A first end of the first side slidably overlaps a second opposite end of the third side and a first end of the second side slidably overlaps a second opposite end of the fourth side. There is an internal top ledge on each side in an interior near a top end of the extension enclosure and the utility enclosure and an external bottom ledge on each side on an exterior near a bottom end of the extension enclosure, to mount the extension enclosure to the utility enclosure with concave and convex detents. Convex detents are at the top end of the utility and extension enclosures and concave detents are at the bottom end of the extension enclosure. The convex detents also reversibly lock a lid to the tops of the utility and extension enclosures.
