An adaptor plate includes a front plate that is configured to span across at least a portion of a front of an electrical junction box and includes one or more adaptor plate mounting features configured to align with corresponding mounting features of the electrical junction box. A DIN rail engagement portion extends backward from the front plate (and into the junction box) and is configured to fit at least partially into an elongated DIN rail mounting recess of a DIN rail device. In some cases, a first mounting slot is disposed within a first side of the DIN rail engagement portion for receiving a first mounting latch of the DIN rail device, and a second mounting slot is disposed within a second side of the DIN rail engagement portion for receiving a second mounting latch of the DIN rail device.

A protective housing for a central electrical system deployed within an electric vehicle is described. The protective housing features a first housing layer, a second housing layer and a third housing layer. The first housing layer is configured to support and protect one or more power distribution units responsible for distributing high-voltage power to components within the electric vehicle. The second housing layer is positioned above the first housing layer, where the second housing layer is to support and protect a power charger that disseminates supplied input power to a high-voltage junction box for routing to the battery system of the vehicle. The third housing layer is positioned above the second housing layer, where the third housing layer is to support a high-voltage junction box that handles the routing of power between the distribution unit(s), the charger and the battery system.

A junction box includes a housing having a plurality of side wall portions, and a liquid detector including a first terminal portion and a second terminal portion. The junction box is disposed in a housing case housing a power storage module. The first terminal portion and the second terminal portion are directed toward a lower side of one of the side wall portions and drawn out from the inside of the housing to the outside of the housing.

A tap-off box includes a latch that automatically secures the tap-off box to a busway upon insertion of a mast into the busway. The latch is in the form of a single spring-loaded member that latches onto a rail as the masthead is pushed into the busway. A push button actuated camming member pushes the latch away from the rail to enable the masthead to be withdrawn from the busway. The push button and camming member are independent of the mechanism that extends and retracts the contacts while the masthead is inserted and latched into the busway. The tap-off box may also include non-contact current monitoring sensors with voltage sensing inserts that an auxiliary breaker switch in applications other than a tap-off box, and an infrared emitting faceplate that can be adapted for monitoring a variety of breakers from outside the tap-off box.
