(1) The new work to old work electrical box clips are for installing a nail on box into drywall to be used as an old work electrical box by removing the nails and nail holders for a smooth surface, the old work box clips fasten the electrical box into drywall firmly and securely.

(2) Older types of old work cut in boxes are currently limited in supply and many jobs can not be completed without this product. Older types of old work boxes cost more and are limited to specific manufactures designs.

(3) Also the old work box clips take and use an overstock of a product, the nail on box for new construction. The clips can be made of many types of materials readily available to be manufactured and if there is a shortage of the current cut-in boxes this will solve the shortage problem by offering a different way of doing the same installation.

Finish material interface flange
11476651 · 2022-10-18 ·

The Finish Material Interface Flange provides an interface between specific electrical boxes and adjacent building assembly finish materials. The Finish Material Interface Flange preferred embodiment cooperates with the Flush Wallplate Electrical Box of parent application 17/723,176 serving to frame an electrical wallplate such that the wallplate finished face is essentially co-planar to the surrounding wall assembly finish material finished surface, referred to as a flush wallplate installation. The Finish Material Interface Flange also serves to facilitate a consistent termination of wall assembly materials at the periphery of the electrical box while reducing labor required to do so. The form of the Interface Flange provides the desired flush wallplate installation with minimum variability.

The assembly for a cartridge system with a hardwired electrical assembly comprising an adaptor as a separate unit in combination with a detachable quick-connect electrical cartridge, or in the form of two cartridges with male and female electrical connectors and snap-in attachments allowing for the connection of the two cartridges and the electrical connectors. The assembly may also have a retractable cord with a direct electrical connection such as a plug used to electrically connect the cartridge system to a fixture so as to allow the easy installation of a fixture in or on a structure. For example, a ceiling electrical box and mating cartridge may allow for a light fixture to be installed and mounted with no tools.

ELECTRICAL WIRING DEVICE ASSEMBLIES WITH EASY TO CLEAN SURFACES

An electrical wiring device assembly having a uniform user facing surface that can be provided with a new electrical wiring device or retrofit to an existing wiring device. The surface is a sleeve that omits crevices, gaps, indentations and other irregularities that can collect and harbor harmful pathogens. The sleeve can be rigid or flexible and is coupled to the wiring device to allow a user to operate the wiring device, such as by allowing a user to move a toggle or paddle switch, while covering the user facing side of the wiring device.

Systems and methods for installing flush mounted electrical devices
11631969 · 2023-04-18 ·

Systems and methods for mounting electrical devices such that they appear “flush” with a finished wall. The systems include specialized back boxes, mud rings, faceplates, and other tools that are installed and used during the mounting process. The mounting process includes a specific series of steps that take place during construction and wall finishing, including that mud or other finishing material is used to both “hide” the mounting system and lock it into place The systems and methods allow for full usage of existing electrical devices such as electric outlets, light switches, and USB connectors, with an improved visual appearance over existing electrical plates that sit on top of the wall.
