A cable retention device useful for fiber optic cable retention, suspension and anchoring, of the drop type and is provided with a retaining element and a housing element, which once coupled retain a drop between them allowing the manipulation of the drop.
BRACKET DEVICE AND METHOD
A bracket device to secure a tail wire of a drop wire clamp to a structure including a base having a surface. The bracket device further includes a retention hook having a first end, a second end, and retention region defined between the first end and second end. The first end of the retention hook is coupled to the base surface, and the second end of the retention hook is disposed at a predetermined distance from the base surface to define a gap therebetween having a width. The bracket device further includes a locking nut that is cooperatively coupled to the second end of the retention hook and adapted to move between an unlocked position to permit a wire to enter the retention region and a locked position in which a wire is retained by the retention hook in the retention region by a reduction of the gap width.
COMPOSITE CORE CONDUCTOR COMPRESSION CONNECTORS AND METHODS FOR USING SAME
An electrical connector includes a compression device defining an aperture and is configured to receive a first portion of a base row of wires and a first portion of a core of an electrical conductor within the aperture. An outer tube defines a central through hole and is configured to receive the compression device within the central through hole. A first end of the outer tube is configured to be compressed around the first end of the compression device, and a first portion of the core of the associated electrical conductor to create a compressed assembly. The compressed assembly is contiguous with a second portion of the base row of wires and a second portion of the core of the associated electrical conductor.
MULTI-LAYER CABLE SPLICE
A cable splice includes a casing having a central portion and a first end including a first aperture. The casing defines an interior cavity. A guide assembly extends through the first opening into the interior cavity. A first clamp member is positioned in the interior cavity and moveable between a loading position and a terminated position. A first biasing member biases the first clamp member toward the terminated position. A carrier is positioned in the interior cavity between the first biasing member and the central region. A second clamp member is positioned in the carrier and moveable with respect to the carrier.
STRENGTH MEMBER ASSEMBLIES AND OVERHEAD ELECTRICAL CABLE INSTALLATIONS INCORPORATING OPTICAL FIBERS
Electrical transmission and distribution lines and methods for the installation and interrogation of such electrical lines. The electrical lines include overhead electrical cables that include a strength member and at least one optical fiber coupled to the strength member. Termination arrangements are configured to secure the electrical cables to a support tower while enabling the passage of the optical fiber(s) through the termination arrangement without damaging the optical fibers. Optical fibers from two adjacent electrical cable segments may also be fused to enable the interrogation of the two cable segments from a single interrogation device.
Deadend anti-rotation clamp
A guard assembly is provided that includes a guard cover portion to cover a power line assembly. The power line assembly has an insulator. The guard assembly also has a clamp that connects to the insulator. The guard cover portion clips onto the clamp.
MISALIGNED DEADEND CLAMP
An electrical connector assembly configured to increase a mechanical hold on a core. The electrical connector assembly includes a connector member, a plurality of housing segments forming a collet having a tubular shape, and a sleeve having a tubular shape configured to slidably encase the outer surfaces of the plurality of housing segments in the collet.
HELICAL JUMPER CONNECTOR
A helical jumper connector includes a helical support member configured to support a wire. The helical support member includes a first leg having a first helical winding and a second leg having a second helical winding that defines a second axial opening. The first axial opening and the second axial opening are coaxial with the wire when the first helical winding and the second helical winding are wrapped around the wire and cooperatively engage with one another to support the wire. A jumper casting is configured to receive the helical support member. The helical support member and the jumper casting are electrically conductive such that the helical jumper connector forms an electrically conductive pathway to carry electrical current from the wire. A method of making a helical jumper connector assembly includes applying a compression force to a helical jumper connector comprising a helical support member received in a jumper casting.
Formed wire inlay tool
A tool for wrapping a formed wire around a cable is provided. The tool includes a handle portion and a head portion. The handle portion has an elongated body and a hand grip portion attached to the elongated body. The head portion has a cover pivotably attached to a base. When the cover is pivoted into contact with the base a cable receiving opening is formed between the cover and the base. The head portion also includes a pusher member extending from the cover or the base into the cable receiving opening. The pusher member is adapted to contact and push strands of a formed wire when the tool is in use.

An assembly component of a compression type anchor clamp includes: a housing tube that houses an end portion of a core portion of a power-transmission line; a core portion compression member, made of steel, that includes a housing hole to house the end portion of the core portion and the housing tube and is to be compressed with the core portion and the housing tube; and a conductive portion compression member, made of pure aluminum or an aluminum alloy, that houses an end portion of a conductive portion of the power-transmission line and the core portion compression member and is to be compressed with the conductive portion and the core portion compression member, wherein the housing tube is constituted by pure aluminum or an aluminum alloy whose Vickers hardness Hv is less than or equal to 30, and continuously provided in its cylindrical direction without a gap.
