11050196 · 2021-06-29 · ·

Embodiments of present disclosure relate to a power cable connector, an electrical system and a method for assembling a power cable connector. The power cable connector comprises a housing comprising a first portion adapted to contain a conductive plug inserted therethrough. The power cable connector also comprises a first layer arranged on at least a part of an inner wall of the housing. The power cable connector further comprises a second layer arranged on the first layer so that the first layer is at least partially located between the inner wall of the housing and the second layer. The power cable connector further comprises a passive wireless measuring apparatus embedded into the second layer, wherein in the case that the conductive plug is inserted into the first portion, a surface of the passive wireless measuring apparatus is coupled to the conductive plug. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the on-line monitoring of the temperature of the conductive plug can be obtained and the power failure can be detected in advance.

CABLE GLAND FOR GROUNDING A CABLE AND METHOD OF USE

A cable gland and methods for earthing, grounding, bonding, and electromagnetic capability with armored, metal-clad, and metallic-sheathed cable types. The cable gland comprises a gland body, a plurality of extensions, an elastomer seal, a compression member configured to rotate the plurality of extensions towards to the elastomer seal, and an earthing insert mounted in the gland body configured to electrically connect a cable to a neutral and/or grounded conductor. The cable gland is configured to provide an air-tight seal between the exterior of the cable and the elastomer seal through rotation of the plurality of extension upon the elastomer seal. The cable gland may include an o-ring and nut to secure the cable gland to a planar body. The earthing insert comprises a grounding spring in electrical communication with a metallic portion of the cable and a neutral and/or grounded conductor.

METHOD OF SEALING OFF A CUT OFF END OF A SUBSEA CABLE SECTION

While laying a subsea cable, an exposed cut off end of the cable is exposed to water prior to permanently sealing off this cable end. To prevent damage to the cable due to contact with the often salt water, due to for example oxidation, a temporarily watertight seal is to be applied to the cut off end. A method for applying this seal is provided which comprises applying a mouldable sealant to the exposed end wherein the sealant acts as a watertight barrier between the water and the cut off end of the cable. The sealant may comprise an intermediate layer between the cut off end and a watertight outer layer arranged to increase adhesion between the cut off end and the outer layer. This allows a broader range of outer layer materials to be used as the outer layer material does not need to adhere directly with the cable.

WIRE WATERPROOF STRUCTURE

A wire waterproof structure including a water-stopping material, wherein: the water-stopping material is configured to seal at least a partial region of a conductor comprising an assembly of a plurality of strands, the water-stopping material contains a resin material, and a filler dispersed in the resin material, and the filler has an average particle size of 1 μm or more and 15% or less of an outer diameter of the strands, and a content in the water-stopping material of 1 mass % or more and 20 mass % or less, relative to the resin material.

The cover assembly includes a cable boot configured to enclose at least a part of the ground stud and the conductive surface. The cable boot has an aperture. The cover assembly further includes a plug boot is insertable into the aperture of the cable boot. The plug boot includes a stud receiving portion defining an interior space. At least a portion of the ground stud is received in the interior space when the plug boot is inserted into the aperture. A handle portion extends from the stud receiving portion.

PROTECTION SHIELD POSITIONING ASSEMBLY AND POSITIONING DEVICE THEREFORE AND METHOD OF USE

A method and assembly for protecting a device connected to a wiring harness is disclosed. The assembly includes a protective tubular shield and a positioning device, with the protective tubular shield having a bore for receiving the device at least partially therein. An elongated wiring harness extends from the device being protected and through the bore of the protective tubular shield. The positioning device is formed having a band and at least one flexible, resilient finger extending radially inwardly from the band. At least one of the fingers forcibly engages the wiring harness to releasably maintain the positioning device and the protective tubular shield in a protection position along the wiring harness at least partially surrounding the device being protected.

Cable cap

The present invention provides, in various embodiments, a push on cap for an electrical cable that can be both temporary and permanent. The cap includes an extension that can be folded back for temporary installation of the cap on the cable, and unfolded onto the cable for permanent installation.
