The present invention provides a millable silicone rubber composition characterized by comprising: (A) two raw alkenylated organopolysiloxane rubbers (A-1) and (A-2), i.e., a raw organopolysiloxane rubber including a molecular chain which is represented by a specific empirical formula and in which each of both terminals has been blocked with a trialkenylsiloxy group and a raw organopolysiloxane rubber including a molecular chain which is represented by a specific empirical formula and in which each of both terminals has been blocked with a monoalkenyldialkylsiloxy group; (B) an organohydrogenpolysiloxane having at least two silicon-atom-bonded hydrogen atoms in the molecule; (C) carbon black having an average primary-particle diameter of 100-350 nm; (D) reinforcing fumed silica having a specific surface area, as determined by the BET adsorption method, of 50 m.sup.2/g or greater; and (E) a platinum-group metal catalyst. This millable silicone rubber composition has an excellent electric-field relaxation ability, a high elongation at break, a reduced tension set, and high dielectric or insulating properties.

POWER CABLE HAVING END CONNECTING PORTION

The present invention is to provide a power cable with a termination connection box, in which the occurrence of heterojunction interfaces between the power cable and the termination connection box are reduced to prevent accumulation of space charges and an electric field may be mitigated.

HIGH PERFORMANCE CABLE TERMINATION

A cable assembly comprising a termination with at least one conductive, compressible member and a conductive ground shield. The conductive, compressible member may be held within a connector module forming the termination such that the conductive compressive member is pressed against, and therefore makes electrical contact with, both an outer conductive layer of the cable and ground structures within the connector module. In some embodiments, these connections may be formed using a conductive, compressible member with an opening configured to receive the end of the cable therethrough. The conductive ground shield may be configured to compress the conductive, compressible member, and to cause the conductive, compressible member to electrically contact the cable's conductive layer. The conductive, compressible member may be formed from a compressible material and may comprise a plurality of conductive particulates configured to provide electrically conductive paths.

Insulator for a cable end

The disclosure provides an insulator for an end of a cable, the insulator having a longitudinal body in which a central channel is provided, the insulator including a connector system arranged in the central channel, the system comprising a connection pin for receiving an end segment of the cable, the pin being shaped so as to present an inside surface that is serrated.

Field grading members, power cables having field grading members, and methods of regulating electric fields

A field grading member includes an insulating body extending along a regulation axis and a conductive body. The conductive body is encapsulated within the insulating body and defines a conductive network therein to regulate an electric field within an underlying insulator from current flowing through a conductor along the regulation axis. Cables and methods of regulating electric field within cables are also described.
