Device and method for monitoring the activity of processing units in an electric trip switch

A device for monitoring the activity of at least one first and one second processing unit fitted to an electric trip unit, each processing unit including a first activity-indicating circuit sending an activity signal to another processing unit and a monitoring circuit comparing a received activity signal with a reference signal. Each processing unit activates a first tripping circuit and/or an auxiliary output when the received activity signal is different from the reference signal. A circuit-breaker including such a monitoring device and a method for monitoring the operation of an electric trip unit including at least two processing units.

Outboard motor

In an outboard motor, a controller controls an electric motor. An output outputs a predetermined notification information in response to a notification command signal output from the controller. When the controller receives a shut-off signal indicating that a semiconductor fuse is off, the controller outputs the notification command signal and causes the output to output notification information. When the controller receives a recovery operation signal indicating a predetermined operation performed by a user from an operator in a state where the semiconductor fuse has turned off, the controller outputs a recovery command signal to the semiconductor fuse.

MONITORING AND LOCATING FUSE CUTOUTS

This disclosure describes techniques implemented at least in part by a fuse-monitoring device to detect when a fuse cutout in an electric power system opens to disconnect a device and/or a load from a power line, and provides an indication of a location of the opened fuse cutout to a utility provider. The fuse-monitoring device may be attached to a fuse holder of the fuse cutout, and may include a movement sensor that detects when the fuse holder swings open due to its fuse melting, or blowing. The fuse-monitoring device may send a notification to the utility provider indicating that the fuse holder has swung open. The fuse-monitoring device may include a GPS sensor to determine the location of the fuse cutout, and may also notify the utility provider of the location of the fuse cutout so a line crew can quickly locate the fuse cutout that requires maintenance.

Electric fuse current sensing systems and monitoring methods

Electrical current sensing and monitoring methods include connecting a compensation circuit across a conductor having a non-linear resistance such as a fuse element. The compensation circuit injects a current or voltage to the conductor that allows the resistance of the conductor to be determined. The current flowing in the conductor can be calculated based on a sensed voltage across the conductor once the resistance of the conductor has been determined.

The power control device reliably disconnects the current path of the failed output transistor. In particular, the power control device includes output transistors, an output terminal, bonding wires connecting the output transistors to the output terminal, output transistor driving circuits controlling the output of the output transistors, and a failure detection circuit detecting the failure of the output transistors. When the failure detection circuit detects the failure of the output transistors and outputs the failure detection signals, the output transistor drive circuits control the outputs of the output transistors so that a larger current flows through the bonding wires than when the failure is not detected.

DIGITAL RELAY

The invention includes an output circuit that outputs an operation signal to a direct current breaker that interrupts a direct current main circuit, and a processor that samples, at predetermined time intervals, digital data wherein a value detected by a direct current transformer that detects a current of the direct current main circuit is measured as an input current, calculates a computed measurement value to be output to a display circuit, and outputs control information for executing a protection process using measurement value sampling data obtained by the sampling to the output circuit, and executes a protection process of the direct current main circuit at every sampling.

A plurality of fuses (F1, F2, . . . , and Fn) are respectively disposed on current paths for a plurality of currents branched from one end of a DC power source (10). In a blown fuse detection apparatus (11), ends on one side of a plurality of capacitors (C1, C2, . . . , Cn) are respectively connected to the ends on the downstream side of the plurality of fuses (F1, F2, . . . , and Fn). A plurality of currents that have flowed through the capacitors (C1, C2, . . . , Cn) are input to a circuit switch (30) and a circuit resistor (31). A microcomputer (37) instructs that the circuit switch (30) be switched on, obtains a detected value of a resistance voltage, and detects, based on the obtained detected value, whether or not there is a blown fuse among the fuses (F1, F2, . . . , and Fn).
