Ground-fault circuit interrupter positioned between energy controlled supply circuit and load circuit which includes fault detection circuit that senses ground path current leakage to the load circuit, fault processing circuit that detects presence of fault and generates fault output signal when fault detected, and control circuit switch connected to fault processing signal output, wherein control circuit switch is opened by presence of fault output signal, thus isolating load circuit from supply circuit. Preferably fault processing circuit and control circuit are optically linked, such that when fault is detected, control circuit switch is opened by optical fault output signal, thus isolating load circuit from the supply circuit. Circuit interrupter may couple another circuit interrupter via power distribution control unit, optionally manageable remotely via automated control interface.

A temporary power delivery system includes a power source, a booth stringer, and a portable GFCI device. The GFCI device is receives current from the power source by a first terminal and delivers current to the booth stringer by a second terminal. An electronic processor of the GFCI device compares a combined magnitude of current flowing through first and second phase conductors of the GFCI device to a magnitude of current flowing through a neutral conductor of the GFCI. The electronic processor also compares a first voltage between the first phase conductor and neutral conductor to a second voltage between the second phase conductor and neutral conductor. A circuit breaker of the GFCI device is opened if a difference between the combined magnitude of phase conductor current and neutral conductor current exceeds a first threshold or a difference between the first voltage and second voltage exceeds a second threshold.

The invention relates to a self-adaptive positive-sequence current quick-break protection method for a petal-shaped power distribution network trunk line. The method comprises the following steps: step 1, calculating a positive-sequence voltage phasor and a positive-sequence current amplitude at a protection installation position when a fault occurs, acquiring and storing a positive sequence impedance value of a protected line; judging a fault type, and judging a fault direction; step 2, when a fault direction element judges that a fault occurs in the forward direction, selecting a self-adaptive current quick-break protection setting formula according to the fault type, and when positive sequence current measured by protection is larger than a protection setting value, judging that the protected line has a short-circuit fault, and making a circuit breaker trip quickly. Compared with the prior art, the method provided by the invention has enough sensitivity and does not change along with the change of the line length and the system operation mode.

COMMON MODE VOLTAGE FEED FAULT PROTECTION

A system includes a generator. Three AC feeders are connected for feeding AC output from the generator. A rectifier is electrically connected to the three AC feeders and to a load via a first DC feeder and a second DC feeder. A first resistor connects between a first one of the DC feeders and ground. A first voltage sensor is operatively connected to detect voltage across the first resistor. A second resistor connects between the second DC feeder and ground. A second voltage sensor is operatively connected to detect voltage across the second resistor. A controller is configured to monitor for changes in common mode voltage based on the input from the first sensor and from the second sensor, and to determine presence of a fault if change in the common mode voltage exceeds a predetermined threshold.
